I have been asked allot how I have done my removeable number plate, so I figure as so many people have asked, I will make a little thread for it.
1. I cut off the clip tips on the bottom 2 clips so that it no longer hooked in but slid
2. Then used packing foam made the same shape and size as the honey combs and fixed that over the bottom clips so that the bottom clips wedge between the honey combs (lots of tape to secure it to the plate and I used the thin foamy/squishy sheets of wrap that came with the grille packing and wrapped it around the slip till it was the right size to be secure but easy to remove)
3. the middle plastic wedges that stick out on the back of the plate holder (one built in), i trimmed these down to stop them permanently wedging the plate (See the scratches in my build thread photo to see the marks left by the kitchen knife I used to do this, you can use this as a guide)
END RESULT
4. Now you can put your plate on easily by hooking the top clips in then pressing the bottom of the plate in to secure, you will hear a click and that plate is solid in place, give it a good tug and you will see
Then to remove push/slide the whole plate up (This is where the foam comes in) and the top clips will be unhooked and it pulls right off
And you can relocate if that is your kettle of fish (not mine personally, prefer stock location )
