Drivers door latch/lock playing silly buggers

Morning guys just got to work opened car got out shut door and it bounced off the latch the lock had closed as I opened the door causing the not to close had to play about with pulling handle and using screwdriver to push lock back open to close my door


What would cause this to happen any input please as can't plug it in to vcds till tonight due to work

right had a play cant see anything wrong plugged laptop in no faults registered what it looks like the latch is not staying latched open see pics:

how it is now :


how it shoudl be :



im thinking it could just be i need a new latch mech anybody else delt with anything like this

New latch required I think. I did this on mine few months back. Now perfect.

Thanks iv ordered one threw eBay not new but with 30 days Warrantee so hopefully this should solve my issue

new lock mech fitted today was nice and easy to do might try and strip down old and and see why its playing up
