I have just dremeled out the excess in the std airbox and also had to dremel the bottom edge of the maf as its too big to fit in the recess, now no lip on bottom of maf. Anyway all done and a tight fit!

Question is does the maf to airbox need to be 100% airtight?

As for the maf horn inside the box I was thinking of using a piece of silicon pipe and jubilee clipping it to the maf inside the airbox? Would this be ok? And if I push right against the wall inside the airbox should that be enough to ensure that nothing could come through the outside of the maf as that sanded right down??

Hope that makes sense otherwise I will get pics?

why have you done this? unless you heading for over 300 bhp your maf will read fine, also you need to scale the new maf into the map or it'll fuel like crap

I am preparing to install it along with a hybrid BBT, 3" hfc, larger tip, 550cc injectors, fmic then remap.

Everytime I post on this forum I am always asked why am I doing it and never an answer to my question.

Sometimes people need a bigger picture before they advise.
If you were doing it and not going down the route you are, it could mean bother for them. It's better to check and help, than blindly guide someone into a hole.

Well if you had put reason with question it'd make more sense. I sikaflex ed my 80 mm tube Into my airbox and just change element if maf goes pop
