Evening all.

As some may be aware i am trying to find out why the work horse is feeling slow for 180 bhp, i have a friend with vagcom but he is used to the 1.8t engine so wasn't too sure what we should be looking at. We did a log using blocks 003, 005 and 011 which came back showing that the actual boost and requested boost were even, the N75 duty only saw a peak at 40%. Unfortunately the laptop we were using is an old one and decided not to save both logs ....

Now the question is should i be concerned at the N75 duty value and is there any other blocks that i should use that would be more suited. Thanks very much

matt

need to add its a 2.5 tdi v6

I cant remember which block but somewhere you can measure the torque (its in Nm,s) so you then convert that figure into pounds feet etc and it should show how much power your actually making.

Nice one, do you know what boost these engines should be running ?

Not off hand but on average you can get as much as 20 psi + on hard acceleration and then settle down to around 16 to 18 but those are ball park figures not exact.

If you find the MVB in vcds and compare it to these figures allowing for wear you should have a better idea.

2.5 V6 TDI 24vV6155 PS (114 kW; 153 bhp) or 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp) or 180 PS (132 kW; 178 bhp)

I was running 17 on full "wot" in fourth. I will look at the torque block and see what it's running.

Thanks for your help buddy

Have a good look at the air filter and intercoolers may have a slight leak which should be visible by an oily black residue running out of the leak.

I have had a gander by running my hands over the exposed pipping and there was no sign of any leaks. I will jack it up this weekend and see what's visible .

intercoolers are behind front bumper so not easy to see a leak on them without removing the bumper but its dead easy to get off , 20 minute job

Oh nice one, I had found the cooler but like you said it 'twas hard to see what was going on with the bumper in place

I may be wrong but i thought the 2.5 v6 tdi had 2 coolers one each side ?

here yer go mate
