This morning I drove my car and noticed a rough idle I took no notice carried on and as engine warmed up the car cut out at lights it did restart and was now at normal operating temperature but this time cut out again at roundabout. this time it didn't start but would turn over no lights on dash phoned AA waited 25 minutes turned over it started drove again but keeps cutting out when I stop but if left for 5 minutes will slowly restart any help would be appreciated

Would be good telling us which engine is fitted. I suggest getting a fault scan.

got a diagnostic done got these codes p3007 and p0391 starts up fine but cuts off when engine gets warm the restarts after 5 minutes or more

the fault codes showing faulty cam sensor missing signal any idea if you need to take off timing belt to replace this its doesn't on 1.9 diesel but not sure on 2.0 any feedback would be appreciated

This happened on my golf. Think it's the cam sensor. I eventually figured it out when I'd replaced the batteries and spark plugs and checked the leads.
