eBay headlight switches

did the daily eBay search for replacement of my worn out headlight switches and have found these and am wondering if they'd fit?

Looks similar and has exactly the controls I need for an mk2 S3 .... At less than 1/2 the price of a proper 8L one.

Anyone reckon it would work? (Final pic is the rear of the cheaper part)
 
Do you need it for a mk1 or a mk2 S3??

They are different switches and may not work, as the S3 has xenons, so they auto adjust the lights.
 
I have a a3 switch in the s3 works fine, you just have the roller switch and that does nothing.(facelift)

I did that already, i wouldnt advice you to do it though as the housing for the switch is much bigger and it will take you about a day to grind it down incrementally to make it fit in the dash panel at the back of the dash panel you have to remove the whole frame that the switch normally slide into as the interior dimmer wont fit properly and you would have to glue the new switch in from the back, i took almost a whole day just to do that and in the process of frustration i ended up making some light scratches on my housing for the switch and im a very patient person.

the only reason i swapped my switch was due that i retroffited front fogs on my car.
