Hi all,new 3 door s3 owner here,(sorry.probably in the wrong section) loving it,though had a month now and coming from a bmw m135 it feels a bit sluggish, only done 1800 miles though, will it get a bit quicker with more miles?

Unfortunately one of the charracteristics of the S3 is it feels slower than it actually is.

They do seem to loosen off after a few 1000 miles. They are as quick as an M135i, S3 is quicker off the mark!

Ive noticed mine really loosen recently @1600 miles.

But yeah its so refined that it doesn't feel all that fast. Although you realise it is when you need to brake!!!

Agree with the above!

Often have the digital speedo displayed so I can keep an eye on it! Comfortable at speed I would say!

Just tune the ******* and enjoy the ridiculous performance for peanuts really.

1700-1800 miles is when I noticed the engine being a bit looser.

It gets louder too the more miles you put on it after run-in.

Mine feels better in higher revs now at 1000 miles. Also V power makes a huge difference for me.

I'm only at 1400 miles but it's definitely getting better and faster each day :)

I came from an M135i too (although via a few weeks in an A6), and I'd agree that the BMW "feels" slightly faster. Looking at the speedo though, there isnt much in it - in my case I think it's because the S3 does still feel like a turbo car, whilst the noise/smoothness/willingness to rev in the BMW does just convince you you're in something even faster that it is.
