hi all thinking about having a remap and just curious if anyone has used the bluefin d.i.y remap ? If so any good ?or is it better to put it in somewhere?
Cheers

At stage 1 there won't be a lot of difference between a Bluefin and any other map. But with the Bluefin you get the convenience of flashing it yourself quickly at home.

I used a bluefin in my S3 and it is perfectly fine. Linear map that does make a difference compared to stock. Not as aggressive as some maps but I can take it off when it goes in for service.

I am getting a remap next month. I considered Bluefin - for some of the reasons mentioned above. However I discounted it as I felt that convenience was not really that important to me.

I've never had a remap and my car has 100k miles (58 plate A3 2.0TFSI). I wanted someone to check the car for any obvious matters prior to applying a map. I fancied understanding what my BHP was before and after. I want to try and avoid any obvious issues afterwards. (e.g. clutch slipping, too much power being given in lower gears not where I necessarily want it all, etc). A generic map isn't necessarily for me.

I also read on here of at least a couple of reputable tuners with good feedback which are cheaper than Bluefin and offer the above. No brainer really, for me therefore, to avoid the bluefin route.

If you search for bluefin, you should find good information. Also search for remap, rtech, unicorn, shark and even tuning, REVO etc. That plus you knowing exactly what it is that matters to you from the tuning 'experience', plus no doubt some more views here, will help you make your mind up!

Cheers fellas, must admit I do the like the idea of being able to take the map off and on with the bluefin, car is due an oil change in like 45 days gonna put it into abtech might have a chat with them see what they have to say

I have a bluefin on mine - it was a little more expensive than some other options, but the ability to have a basic fault code reader, disable the car if i go away, and put it on and take it off when it goes into a service etc personally i thought was worth it.

Also i wasn't interested din raging power, just something smooth and to give me bit more of a punch when needed! Ability to easily take it off if I sell it was also a major selling point for me!

I'm in the process of moving away from bluefin as I am going stage 2+ drop me a line if you are interested in buying mine.

How much are you after for it mate? And where you from?
