I've just purchased my very first Audi, it is an A4 2007 B7 model 1.8T S line model with satnav and multifunction steering wheel. I already have some modifications in line and have received quotes which I am fairly happy with for things like cruise control and so on.
The thing I would really like is a flat bottom steering wheel, now this may have been covered previously but I have tried searching and I am only getting more confused, as some people have required vag com coding, whereas others have stated it is not required.
If I already have a multifunction steering wheel and wish to replace it with a flat bottom multifunction steering wheel, will I require vagcom coding?
I have been quoted £590 including fitting for the steering wheel, is this a decent price?
I was thinking that if it was just about fitting the steering wheel and vagcom was not required then I could get it done by a family friend for much cheaper.
Can someone please provide me with part numbers that I would require to make this work?

Right I've found out that if I am able to find a Fbmfsw with the 'menu' button on the left hand side it would be a simple swap, which is great news for me as I'm a total newbie when it comes to vag com stuff. In any case what would be a decent price to pay for the steering wheel airbag and airbag loom?
Someone mentioned a connector for the buttons to work, I'm guessing I wouldn't need that if it was straight plug and play?

I have one fitted from a TT mk2, straight fit, couple wires on the wheel itself had to be swapped around in the plug, no coding needed.

Thanks for that.. how much did you pay?
and how did you figure which wires to swap round? Is it easy to work out once it's actually being done?
