hi all had my s3 for a while now and when I got it the bloke before had put h+r springs on it lowering it 25mm,after looking I can't seem to find h+r dampers to match? Just curious if anyone has used any other dampers with good success?? Also while I'm here has anyone swapped out there standard filter for the revo one? Not the induction kit
Cheers smirky

Depends how firm and sporty you want it .

Bilstein B4's are oe or the relevant Bilstein B6/B8 damper for serious handling at a bit of a compromise to ride quality.

Cheers buddy , don't want it to aggressive so will prob go for the b4s ,appreciated

What makes you want to uprate the dampers, are OE ones not up to scratch ?

if bilsteins were o.e why would you change them .
i need some rear dampers for the sportback with hr springs , getting arch rub , done the usual tricks screw removal etc , still same so to me sounds like dampers arnt upto coping .Q is b4 b6 or b8

Think the b6s are for heavy loads ,I'm hoping the b4s will offer a bit more if not will have to go for the b8s,

dont know wether its just me or what but seem to be having trouble sourcing them most say not for quattro

cheers smirky ,been knocked off my feet again with ill health . ,appreciated
I always ring them to check part number against car model etc plus never no might get a few quid off

B4 is oe

B6 is uprated

B8 is the same as B6 but a shorter.
I have read in a couple places that standard shocks on lowers springs don't actually work properly due to being designed for the longer spring, would the b4s have the same problem? Or designed to work with a lowered spring?

As it's just 25 mm lower , oe shocks are fine go lower than 40 mm and best have shorter shocks .

Ok cheers due oil change etc soon so might get em to chuck b6s and upgraded filter on it while it's there

Don't forget to get a quote from Damian, @DPM he may be able to do you a deal.

I promise you the B4's will do a very good job and be more comfortable.

There's going to be a notable difference in price between a B4 and B8 damper .

B4's are rumoured to be oe+ .

iv been running b4s with h&r 50mm. according to Bilstein they are better than very slightly uprated. I like them and the are really comfortable but would like to try the b8s or 6s
