hi guys,

I'm tempted on getting a milltek DPF delete pipe and a green cotton air filter before going in to get them fitted along with a custom stage 2 map. I see it has a fake DPF attached at the top of the pipe, do these pass the MOT? I don't want a loud aftermarket exhaust so was hoping to keep stock?

Also I know derv inherently smokes, but is it possible to get a stage 2 map with minimal smoke?

Thanks

Nice and quick reply haha.

Can you expand on that or give any hints/tips as I really have no clue with engine mods, I've only ever been a cosmetic only sort of guy since I've never had a car worth tinkering with.

Also can anyone advise who is best to take my car to up here in the North East?

Cheers

I'd ditch the air filter in favour of blanking the EGR valve as well as using the DPF delete pipe. OEM air filter and box are fine.

Is that beneficial too, I thought the EGR was a good thing? yeah I want to keep the oem box, just thought the filter would be better.

Can anyone advise a place to have this work completed up here?

Excuse my crudeness but the EGR is basically like ******* in your drink and then drinking it. It takes exhaust gas, cools it and puts it back into the intake.

@Rick @ Unicorn Motor Dev. offers this service, and has a great reputation. I'm sure other forum sponsors will do too.

Hi I'm based North East' can offer a discounted price, don't waste money on a miltek DPF delete pipe, gut the old one, flows great as it is and 100% looks more genuine in my eyes for not having the genuine unit in place

Well if there's a way to sum up the EGR, that pretty much does it haha. Yeah I think it needs to go, is there MOT implications? Thanks for pointing me to Rick but he's quite a distance from me

Yeah I was starting to think about buying a ******** pipe from fleebay and chipping it all out since mine is fairly new, 26k newish? And keeping it just I case the MOT changes and it has to be put back. I see your not far from me, what sort of price would I be looking at to have the gutted DPF pipe fitted, removal of the EGR and custom remaped? I'm assuming you have a rolling road for the custom mapping. Cheers

@Paul @ Unit 9 Remaps im also interested in a dpf removal and egr removal. I have already had a apr remap from awesome GTI but they point blank refused to remove the dpf as they said it can cause nightmares?
