Popped into Audi over the weekend and my girlfriend purchased a new Audi A1 sport with a couple of options, spec as follows:

Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 6 Speed Manual (125bhp)
Glacier White
Black seats with grey inserts
Air vent sleeves in glacier white
Hill hold assist
Comfort package (parking sensors (rear), DIS, cruise control, high beam assist, auto dimming rear view mirror and light and rain sensors)
Delete engine tech
Design package (panoramic sunroof, LED interior lighting, folding door mirrors, privacy glass and windscreen sunband
Dynamic suspension
Electronic climate control
Front centre armrest
17" x 7.5J ‘5-V-spoke’ design bi-colour alloy wheels.

I'm well excited to be fair! The dealer was saying it's one of the first cars they've ordered with the design package (Guess this is a fairly new option?)

Approx a 4 month wait. Will upload some pics when it arrives :) It's not even going to be my car but I cannot wait!!

Nicely done, how did the discount hunt go?

You do know the Hill hold can be programmed by VCDS?

I managed to get £1000 off which I'm happy with, could've maybe fought for a bit more, but it's done now. Ah no way?! I didn't realise that. I've not long bought a VCDS cable for my A3 and made a few tweeks.

One quick question, you may be able to help on, Suspension setup - We've gone with Dynamic (thinking it was sportier - the drive select labels "sport" as dynamic) but it turns out dynamic is not the sporty option. In two minds whether we should leave it as dynamic or swap it back to sport

Doesn't the dynamic mean the suspension setting changes with drive select? I'm not 100% to be honest but if you leave it standard, drive select only changes throttle response and the noise speaker I think?

My understanding is the SE comes with dynamic suspension, sport comes with sport suspension. despite sport mode being called dynamic on the drive select :keule:. Which makes no sense. So I guess I was wondering whether there is much difference between dynamic and sports suspension

Nice spec, I ordered mine a couple of week ago too but has a similar long lead in like your gf's too :(

Full spec ive gone for here

@MA3RC Nice spec, Im sure you cant wait. We will all wait patiently with you and your girlfriend for some lovely pictures. :) x

Thanks guys! We popped into Audi today and they told us we've been brought forward to a week 19 build date so 10th May ish. Which is a lot sooner than we expected. I think I'm more excited than her to be honest :) I'll post loads of pics up for you all

Very nice spec on yours as well, I remember the wait for my A3, it's hard. But so worth it once it arrives :D

Same build week as mine :) twins haha

My wife has a 1.6 TDI A1 SE at the moment and tomorrow she is test driving one of the latest models with an s-tronic gearbox. She had a drive in a 1.2TSI Polo SE on Saturday and liked it so we will have to decide between them. She is quite happy with a manual gearbox but it will be interesting to try the 1.6 with the s-tronic. She sometimes drives my A3 which has a s-tronic and is quite used to it.

I do like the little tweaks Audi have made to the A1, certainly keeps it looking fresh

Audi called my gf to ask us to complete the last of the paperwork this Tuesday. Car shouldn't be much longer now! I'm guessing yours is due soon as well?

Yep it's arrived and I'm picking it up on bank holiday Monday :D

My gf is collecting hers Friday :) we've been to sign off the last few bits and bobs

What's the verdict then Marc? The gf happy with the new motor?

Have get a pic of it up :) can't wait to get it Monday! It's killing me its just up the road and has been all week but haven't been able to get in to collect it and the salesman is off all weekend :(

It's fantastic! We've been out doing so much driving, haven't had chance to report back aha.

I can't get over how well the car is built and feels, the interior build quality is superb. There really isn't much difference between the A1 and my A3 other than overall size. The engine is on point and always wants to pull in any gear. I'm in love with the panoramic sunroof and slightly jealous I didn't spec one on my car.
Handover was also great and the salesman left us with a full tank of petrol, an Audi bear, umbrella, pens, key rings and a bottle of bubbly :)

I'm sure you're going to love yours (only 1 day left ;) )

Haven't had chance to take many pictures, but here's a couple I snapped off my phone:

Less then 24 hours for me now and seeing your pics has me proper excited! Wish I had gone for the upgrade alloys now, only didn't as will be going for aftermarket and lows eventually so be a waste of money

Panoramic glass roof looks ace

What spec did you go for again? The gf literally hasn't stopped driving it

Went for:
- Daytona grey
- Black styling pack
- Super Sports seats & full leather
- Design pack (glass roof, tints, led lights, elec mirrors)
- Deletion of badges
- Flat bottom wheel
- Cruise control
- Luggage pack
- Sat nav
- Advanced key
- Arm rest

Hi MA3RC. I was spending a lot of time driving my wife's A3 recently (sofa shopping :( ). I actually found the driving position a bit uncomfortable. (Maybe driving position is the wrong wording.) I was using the cruise control a lot of the time. After ACC was set I had to pull my right leg back to rest my foot flat on the floor with my knee bent at an uncomfortable angle. This is fine for my wife as she has shorter legs and does not find having to sit in this position uncomfortable.

The last time I was in the Audi show room I noticed that the A1 has a space to the right of the accelerator to place your foot. Have you been allowed to drive the A1 much? Does it have a more comfortable driving position than the A3, for long journeys with the cruise control set?

I've done 600 miles in one day in my S1 (obviously a lot of motorway with CC set), it's actually very good comfort-wise and at 6ft 4inches I can't say I've had issues with getting my legs into a comfy position - probably a bit better than my 135i, but not quite as good as my SQ5 or Octavia vRS. I do miss ACC though (had it on my SQ5).

I Haven't driven it as much as I'd like, I can't get the keys off her aha.. But yes there is space next to the accelerator pedal which I have used when on cruise control, but I've not done any long journeys in it yet. All cars with cruise control should have two footrests I reckon, one each side.

When I was at the Audi dealers I checked all the cars in the show room. The A1 was the only Audi I found that had a place for your right foot.
