New 2015 RS3!!!

Do the super sports seats include the electric lumbar adjustment like the S3 though? It doesn't say so in the RS3 brochure but they are an option
I presumed you had to pay for the option on top of the SSS option, but as the S3 gets it included, I would say it is more likely to follow that trend.

Surely the wave brakes brakes are the ceramics as they look bigger and miles better than the ones in this pic ....

Nope, it's well documented at the standard see discs are wave.
Why bother making a complicated shape out of ceramic when it dissipates heat so much better anyway.

I'm really torn on this, just been in to discuss some figures and am struggling to decide if its worth it, leaning towards maybe sticking with my S3 for time being

Been offered a guarantee value for my S3 of only 20000 (ouch!) in September so can use that as whole deposit as theres no finance on it, that puts my monthlies on an RS3 at £275 with a balloon of 16000, thats on 12,000 miles per year, GFV of around £24,000

How much is the lure of an RS....

Second photo is not a new RS3.

There are standard 370mm front brakes:

looks like they haven't 'handed' the brake discs again...........tut, tut Audi........more brake problems on the horizon maybe..........

Not sure why, I've had plenty of performance cars which have not had handed brakes

We also ordered a Hyundai i10 Premium SE in Moon Blue today as the runabout. Surprisingly good car! And a steal at £10.5k (£12.1k RRP), 5 years warranty and 5 years road side. This comes in July, before which we will sell the vRS (any interested!?).

In July the S1 will go up for SoR at Local dealership (or let me know if you are interested!?).

RS3 could come anytime between Sept and Jan, am yet to get a build slot yet. I'm hoping nearer Jan as it allows me more time to add to the house deposit!

How'd you go about getting the discount? Previous purchases or just asked for discount.

Brought £200k of business in 2 years to the dealership.
5% was their opening offer, the 0.77% was commission they owed me from a couple of sales I brokered in the last few months.

The other 4 RS3's they have sold all had 0% discount. They said if Joe Bloggs walked in and really bargained hard they would go to 1% for him.
Not sure discount for the masses will come until Sept onwards when a few are on the forecourts.

Nice config and good discount being one of the first units.

Audi Phone Box is compatible with Audi Connect?
Why you don't like panoramic glass sunroofs?

Phone box is just a GSM pico cell in the arm rest. So like a mini cell tower in the car that only tx/rx about 6 inches. So when your phone is in there, it registers with the car as it's the strongest signal, and the car then boosts it onto the nearest tower via the external antenna.
The result is better signal/quality of voice, and less power usage on the phone as its transmitting inches not miles.

The Audi Connect is a totally separate system with its own SIM card (or RSAP Bluetooth connection - but that is naff and has a lot of drawbacks) that gives the car 4G internet access. It's independent of the phone box and should have no impact.
The only thing I am unsure on is if they share the same external antenna or have 2 separate ones, there should be no reason for separate ones though.
FYI, I work in telecoms, hence the detailed knowledge!

Pano roof adds weight at the top of the car raising the centre of gravity, plus it's ****** expensive on an already massive spend, plus if you want open top driving buy a convertible, plus I'm not a fan of the greenhouse effect when it's shut. ALL my cars have always been "Every option except the pano roof", and at times I've owned a £1500 2 seater rag top (MR2 or MX5 type thing) to compensate - I figure spend the money saved on the option on a whole fun car!

I need to drive one myself, trouble is what dealers will have a demo? My local says it's unlikely they will have one. They have a few S5s which could be my other choice...

I had a call last week to say they'll have their RS3 demo car in June. I hoping I will like it, but have started to see a few so-so reviews popping up about the car. Less could be more is what I'm wondering, i.e. S3 vs RS3. Let's face it, the performance gap isn't that big between the cars, but the price and running costs are night and day. Only one way to decide and that'll hinge on the test drive and the financials... certainly not going to risk ordering without having seen or driven one, that's for sure!

Can't see the old bodies next door appreciating that racket when the car arrives

Nice Spec, I couldn't order Full Electric Super Sport Seats (Just Electric Lumber Support) So I've gone with Electric Std Seats are you sure it's possible to have the Full Electric Super Sport Seats as I'll get back on to my dealer to add them

It's badly worded, it's just the lumbar, as you say, no full electric on the SSS. I'm not bothered as the std electric is not memory. The only reason I want electric seats is if they link to advanced key per driver.

Looking at similar spec, but with pano roof, Nardo and no roof rails. I think the rails lift the S3 styling a little but I'm not sure it suits the RS3?? Everyone has their opinion though.

It's a practicality thing for me, I'll likely need a roof box a few times a year. I'd rather not spec them but for that.

That's what I thought Jose. I could do with them but not sure. Ah well decisions decisions Looks good with or without to be honest.

You'll barely see them on mine what with the black with black on a base of black!

nice ........ you can see it really dips on the back arches on initial acceleration

Just reading through that review, definitely more objective.

This line has me wondering though:

"Flip the right buttons to bypass some of the exhaust system and back off the electronic aids and this high-performance Audi sounds like a proper race car. It roars, spits and crackles, and is guaranteed to put a huge smile on the face of any rev head."

Iv been looking at some pictures of the 8v exhaust setup vs the 8p setup and apart from the obviously dual sided back box I can't see much difference between the two.

There's what appears to be a butterfly valve on one of the dual branches going into each exhaust tip - i would imagine the sports exhaust just features that setup and the standard exhaust has a single branch into each exhaust tip with no valve. Would there be much difference between the two setups apart from the volume of the exhaust?

I'm sure the s3 8p has a butterfly valve on one of its exhaust branches that opens dependant on engine load or throttle position? Can someone confirm this?

Agreed, I would love a set of those rims. The gloss black rotors have grown on me a lot tho. But given the choice I would have gone V Spoke.

I thought LED headlights were standard, they're xenon. And that front blade looks damaged. Is it really a RS3?
