Hello all, i'm Phil from the West Midlands just owned over a fortnight. Second car now, upgraded from a Corsa D 1.2 10 plate.
A4 B8 1.8t S line. Absolutlety in love with the car, never thought I would be able to afford one at my age, but here it is.

A did a solid week of driving it putting just under 800 miles on it as it is such a joy to drive. Then came one of the hottest weekend of the year so far. Cracked the clay bar out and gave her a full treatment, just waiting on some new heads for my car mop to give her a full detail. The spec included the B/O sound system which sounds absolutely amazing as i really enjoy my music whilst driving.
So in terms of modifications not much will be do just yet as funds are extremely low now. I purchased some LED rear number plate lights which look great, an S line badge which i replaced with the A4 badge on the boot. Rear light tints and my private plate which is being transferred now.

All money being saved now is for a full Air ride system which I hope to be on during the spring of 2016 and of course wheels and tires.
So other than that I'll be enjoying the car for what it is as it's a beautiful peace of kit, i'm absolulty over the moon with it. Thanks guys, don't be afraid to let me know who you are!!

Thanks very much man, well i debadged the back and thought it looked to bare, I didn't want to replace the badges and this really look my fancy, I know it's a bit of a sham but I think it sorts the rear out.

Yay! Looks like my MJ when I got her. I like :)
I have my coilovers for sale for £75 if you want them for temp lows before air next year.
Is what I used them for as sounds same as you, saved for air.

Hi, Phil, welcome to ASN. Nice looking car you have there. Hope you like it, and the forum too.

Welcome and nice one fella. My 2nd car was a Ford Probe, you probably have no idea what one of those is but let me tell you that it was utter *****, so good going!

Don't bend it :)

MJ? Am i missing something? I would but i'd have to declare them and i'm not sure my insurance would allow me, I'll ring up soon and check though, if i can, then I definitely will.

You would be surpised how little it is, cost me extra £16 for my window tints but nothing for the suspension or any other mods I have and I phone every few months to add bits at no extra cost.
I have the coilovers posted up on some facebook groups and other forums now at only 75 to clear space. If you want them let me know soon incase they go :)

Nice motor mate. I have the same car as you on a 08 plate. Seem to have nothing but trouble with it at the moment which is a shame. They map really well though, a REVO map will take it to 200bhp without causing any undue stress to your engine.

Except for slippy clutch's after any map on the b8s.
If you get a new clutch chuck in a Revo map :)

Hello bud! Oh that no good mine only has 45k on it so hopefully no problems until im in the 60-70k. Yeah i think a remap will eventually come but not yet as i want to enjoy the car for what it is atm.

As I said I was getting the grill and fogs wrapped this week and I did. For anyone living in the midlands I would recommend Sam from Wrapstarzpro.

Really happy with this look.
Anyways some more good news, I spent 2 whole years saving for part to modify my Corsa, It was my pride and joy as anyone's first car, but after multiple near misses and collisions with deer I had to return it to standard and go through the books of declaring my modifications. Now at 17-18 with 3 points this proved to be literally impossible so I lost the love for my car as I thought it was hideous standard. This brought me to want to sell it, and as I did. Now I thought I wouldn't be able to get insured for modifications until I was around 20 especially with this car, so I decided to ring my insurer this morning to to find out for sure, stop me from getting my hopes up, basically asked the question can I get insured for modifications, she said yes. I was gobsmacked... SOOOO mods should be starting soon!! Oh and my private plate has arrived so that looks sweet, no pictures of course.

Haha I thought that when I bought mine! Mine on had 45k on the clock with FSH. Bought it from a friend who only did 8k in it over the last two years. Its just hit 50k this week and since then its had two new wheel bearings, a throttle body, the resonator in the exhaust has failed and the nearside ball joint needs replacing. Spent about a grand on it so far - which was intended for a remap and other little mods!

To be fair though I still wouldn't swap it for anything else. Love the way it looks, love the way it drives and how solid it feels. Grill looks smart!

B8's do look the best in Phantom black!
Keep track of the oil consumption tho.....

Not sure about your but my S4 has no dip stick !

Puzzled me for a mo, had to google it. It's a display in the mmi menu.

The cars looks great btw, many hours of cleaning there I see

All b8's have Onboard MMI oil reading. Also they are very accurate if you check them when engines warm. Problem lies with the TFSI alcohoilic engine! See my thread.....

Dip stick thing baffles me.. Reinventing the wheel comes to mind.. Last oil change took 2 days to update on mmi and then was almost empty, such a dangerous reinvention.
I am getting the dipstick with code 03L 115 611E for 2.0 tdi and trimming the end, ideal mod, stupid audi not doing a dip stick for 2010+ cars, trying to put of the driveway tinkerer

Oh joys! You fill me with confidence aha! Hopefully that wont happen as I'm about to spent a healthy amount on some wheels..

You're retrofitting a dipstick? How can I do this! When I got the car they told me they had done a full service on it, two days later the oil level warning light came on, I brought some 1L Castrol and topped it up, haven't had a problem since but i'm still a bit weary..

Google your engine code and dipstick. Should find one for yours easily, think i saw a few write ups for 1.8ts.
Mine is from my engine before they changed the dipstick tube length to change the engine cover, so the stick is too long after that revision. But the same stick can be trimmed easily trimmed and still has a line on it to measure after :)

Good job my second car was complete crap. Your doing very well if that's your second car :) nice ride and welcome

So some exciting news.. Coilovers are now on, a nice drop for the time being, wheels are now on order from Quantum 44, thanks to Manda for the coils and the word about Quantum.. They start production in a week and will be with me start of July..

Looks very well mate, how do you find the comfort with the FK coilovers? .. What drop are you sitting now? ..

Thanks bud, it's sitting really well at the moment, just enough drop to cover the arch gap but not enough to make it impractical, until later anyways ;) Well I had FK's on my previous car they're cheap and cheerful, not a horrible ride but definitely firmer than the standard S line setup. I couldn't tell you the drop bud, I'd assume somewhere round 60mm

Looks like a very classy A4 for a youngster @philbell (no offence meant BTW, I am an ancient 43, but can remember when I was first starting out with cars) ..

If I'm 100% honest I'm nae sure about the new wheels but will reserve judgment until I see them on, I'm more of an OEM look person and some rotors would have looked spot on.

As long as you like them though, that's cool.

Nice car anyway, and the drop in height looks good on it ..
