I have just purchased the aftermarket head unit for Audi A3 8P 2012 model which has Touchscreen , Nav , e.t.c
i have connected the headunit with the canbus cable which was included and have also connected the RCA cable as well - everything seems to work fine . The bluetooth , Nav , DVD , but the proble i have is with the rare speakers as there it has stopped working - my speakrs are Non- Bose and i do think it has an amp . could you help me with this ? i am fairly new and it is the first time i am doing a stereo installation

I had a similar issue when I swapped mine over from a concert. It's described in this thread: http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/android-head-units-worth-it.239980/page-2
the upshot was I've moved the "amplifier" control back - essentially I think favoured the rear speakers in the front/rear fader and it's much improved. For me, it wasn't that I was getting no rear output, it was very, very quiet. I've been away travelling for a few weeks, now I'm back I'm still not convinced the sub is working properly/much/at all. I'm thinking about pulling it out to see if it's moving. Not had the car long (and been away most of the time) so can't be totally sure what it sounded like with the concert headunit in. Actually thinking about it now as I type I may swap back to the concert headunit again just to get a clearer idea.

In the links I posted above it mentions a power wire for the rear amp at the connector may need to be connected.

I've pulled everything out this morning and confirmed that the amp trigger wire is correctly connected. I've checked the rear sub and it's definitely working. The only problem I have is in a side-by-side listening comparison of the same track on cd on both original concert head unit and new after market unit the original unit puts out a way more bass-heavy sound. I've tried fiddling with all the of controls for the new head unit but whatever I do I cannot get it to put out as much bass as the concert. I'm now thinking its simply a feature of the head unit and not a wiring or set up issue. One last thing for me to try is a different music app, perhaps something with more fine-grained equaliser controls.

When i connected my sph-da120 which also i couldnt get the rear speakers working, i rang dynamic sounds and they said behind the head unit there's three blue wires which all have to be connected to eachother, it worked after that. Theres also an option in the audio settings of the headunit which you can turn rear speaker on and off, make sure thats on too. Hope this helps
