Hey guys,

S1 order nearly placed, just deciding on final spec.

Not that I'm buying it for economy but I wondered what real life MPG you're returning?

Can you include your regular journey distance/motorway cruise or b-road/using 95 or 97/99RON please?

Thanks!

I drive 30miles to and from work, half motorway/town driving, using Tesco - momentum 99 and in eco mode
29mpg average
when im pasting it to / from work in dynamic, 17mpg

Thanks guys, good to know that the quoted 40 is nowhere to be seen!

I missed the last bit of your thread. I'm 99 only (Tesco usually, Shell otherwise), but that's because I'm running the tuning box so putting more compression in the engine.

I don't really have an average journey (walk to work), but the % of city driving shown on each fill up is pretty accurate, I have a heavy foot, always in dynamic. If all you did was long distance and was sensible over 40 would be possible.

My commute is 30 miles practically on one A road, which is a little twisty and lots of 30 zones. I'd be happy with mid 30s on an efficiency run.

Yea, I personally get low 30s on a long run, but I drive fast and am impatient.

I would agree as Jose says over 40 possible on a long motorway journey when the active cylinder stuff works properly etc.

Ah! I read in the manual about thats all, that will explain why i have never had it show up on the display, ive never had a decent run down a motorway without slowing down / speeding up etc yet.
...something new everyday!....

Because the manual covers all possible options for all possible variants of the A1/S1 - so not all are relevant to your vehicle/spec.

I'm averaging 25mpg but only have 600 miles on the car and it's a very difficult car to drive sensibly, don't think you will be worrying too much about the fuel consumption though as the cars too good to be thinking about stuff like that.

I usually get about 34/35 on my way to work and in the way back (15miles each way) and the most I've ever had is 39.1 with cruise control on at 60

Coming back from Bristol for ADI I was about 36/37 sitting at 80 with the cruise

Only got 200 miles on car just come back from leeds 50 miles away and got 34mpg at about 75 mph.
don't really think the economy mode makes much difference.

When I came back from ADI I has it in the efficency mode but day to day running it's auto mode :)

My first drive was a 250 mile journey from the dealership on A roads, I averaged 36mpg and 20 mins of that was sitting in city centre traffic. Better than I imagined.

I guess that wasn't the most spirited drive?

Oh and welcome! Any pics to share of your motor?

On A roads I can get around 35mpg (according to the DIS) if I am concentrating. If I stop thinking about efficiency and drive normally, or if I am in the city, it's almost always around 25mpg (my car has done approx 500 miles now).

As it's relevant, I'll mention that I've been comparing DIS MPG to Calculated MPG the last 3 tanks and it's only been out by 0.1 or 0.2 each time, which is pretty good to know, as so often the DIS is a bit optimistic.
