Hi all,
Hoping I can get some help here.

So I just got my Audi and all was fine... Got the car serviced so everything was new oil etc.
Went home and disconnected the battery as I was seeing about a noise behind the steering wheel, put it all back together.
Next morning started the car and it was idling really bad and sometimes cutting out, drove it upto my mates garage and the car was going into limp mode on the way there.
Plugged his machine in and disconnected the Maf and the car ran fine.
He replaced the Maf today with one from Audi and still the same problem.

So basically no maf it's fine soon as maf connected it runs like a bag of poo.

Has anyone else got an idea?
2004 2.0 FSI Advant.

you need to reset the throttle body, because you have disconnected the battery .

Anyone with vcds can do it.

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. I take it you can do that by disconnecting the battery?
If so that's been done.

Thanks
Fraser

NO , if you disconnect the battery you then have to reset the TB using vcds

Ah I see, OK mate will give that a bash. Thanks again for the help

ECU will adapt the TB over a few driving cycles, absolutely no need for VCDS, that's a myth.
The only time I've ever come across the same problem where a VAG 1.8T wouldn't run properly with a new MAF, but was ok without a MAF, it actually turned out to be a faulty cam position sensor.

Just an update guys,

New maf done and working and replaced the dipstick.
Faulty part from Audi
