Have recently placed an order for a new s3 saloon with a delivery date of 10 weeks and agreed a trade in value for my current s3.

Thing is I'm now having 2nd thoughts and wonder if it would best to sell privatley closer to the delivery of the new car and try and get a better price?

my car is a silver 2010 3d s-tronic with every option including recaros and having only covered 16.5k , what do you guys think a realistic price would be I could sell for at privately in about 8 weeks time?

Or is there anyone who's looking to buy in approx 8 weeks and after a minter, I would consider any offer that exceeds the dealer price. (Pictures and Offers by PM) a small deposit would secure.....

Canaany one give me an indaction of what the car would be worth in a private sale?

Comapre with the prices on Autotrader mate.. I'd get it on there as soon as possible too, trade in prices are a joke.. See if you get it sold before then.. Hard to give a price as S3 prices are all over the place at the moment

Looked at trading in mine last month for an RS3 and the garage were offering £18.5k......so told them to poke it.......Privately as it is.....I reckon I would of got about £20.5k

I will probably try and advertise it privately a few weeks before my new car arrives…. After checking auto trader I see what you mean about prices being all over the place, anywhere from 18 to 22.5K!!, thing is do you really get private buyers who will spend 20K on a car without the backup of a dealer warranty?

Buying 1st S3 in 2009 I tried to trade my 3 year old Mk5 GTI in black with everything and was offered £6250 as it was immaculate but had 100k miles on it. To be fair to the dealer he said sell it private and you will get far more as the mileage kills it for us. I put it on ebay 2 days later for £11k and got £10500 day after that!
