just had first service at audi dealership at a cost of £252 for what is basically an oil and filter change, does this seem excessive? i waited while the service was carried out which was no more than an hour and was charged an eye watering £137 labour plus vat. Is this about right? a3 1.4 petrol 2013 8700 miles.

Paid £180 all in for my first oil change service at 8200 miles on my 2.0 S3 8V last November..

I paid £185 for oil and filter on s3 8v

Which dealers are offering the sub £200 price on the oil service please?

Ouch! Glad I went for £399 for the service plan when I ordered now (don't think they offer it now btw).

Just been quoted £330 for Oil and pollen filter first service on my 2.0TDI @18K miles - Herts/Essex border

come on people, you buy a luxury car, the cost to service and maintain it is going to be more than your average ford or honda dealer. Did you guys not consider this when purchasing or leasing you cars?

Handy to know as that is where mine will be going :)

Not a bad price considering I paid £125 for a 1st service on a Mokka diesel last year and that was with works discount!

Why not go to VW/Skoda/Seat? Same engines, same parts, same training?

Too much badge snobbery on this forum for that ;)

plus you don't get those cream leather sofas and nice biscuits at the Skoda garage.

I took that as well - £399 for 3 years - seemed like a no brainer to me.

I was told I couldn't. They don't have the necessary connections to Audi.

Just got the 'Oil change due' sign after 9k.......Audi Watford have quoted £230 for an interim service

Well, it's not that I wouldn't expect to pay a price but when you know the labour, time and parts are barely anything for an oil change it is annoying if it's above around £100.

Never had good service from Audi and always had problems/things go wrong/get damaged..list goes on and on...

With an independent specialist never had a problem, only paid for what actually needs doing and was reasonable with genuine audi parts. They eventually were only £15 cheaper for a service but I still used them over Audi.

I ain't looking forward to using Audi again. Sales guy says if I use an independent the warranty is invalid, which is not right. As long as you have a receipt showing genuine audi parts/service manual followed you're fine; a good independent does this for you. My only conflict is I know it will affect resale value.

Wait, why is no one paying the fixed price on the Audi website?

Fixed Price Servicing is only for cars 3+ years.

Which begs the question .....

Why do (st)dealers charge much more for servicing brand new cars ;)
(than older cars)

I asked the same question when I took mine in for an oil change last year and was told they could match the fixed price service but that it wouldn't be done using long life oil and that was my oil change was more expensive.
It's having its 2 year big service next Friday and I'm dreading it, I may need to sell a kidney.

Mine due for oil service early June anyone in N.E. Lincs area who have had any decent quotes would appreciate it if you share,
Cheers

I had a Toyota before my Audi and they had all the service prices displayed behind the service desk. And the service was pretty good, all the things you expect - free courtesy car, free wifi while you wait, coffee etc.
I must say, I expected Audi to be the same.
But I took the £399 3 year deal anyway.

For some reason i got mine done for free, i got a quote of £189 and then i just asked the dealer to check if my finance plan covers services. It turns out it did and had it done for free. The invoice then given to me was adressed to audi finance and was for £99 including labour!

Mine is a lease car (Alphabet) and we are told to take it to independent places for minor services. They only use dealers for the major services apparently. I cant imagine it violates warranties as leasing companies are pretty strict on this due to resale values later. Mine is due for its 2nd year service soon so will see what they do. Last year it went to a place called SN Autohaus in Hainault, Essex.

Was it scotswood or silverlink?

It's the one on Scotswood road.

The one in the silver link is Tyneside Audi.
They'll probably be the same price as would Wearside audi (who I don't like apart from the parts guy) and Teesside Audi as they're the same group.

Had an Oil Change today.

£159.11 which breaks-down as:

Lubrication Service: £63.65
Filter: £7.47
Screw: £2.08
Cleaner: £2.99
Oil: £56.40

Sub-Total: £132.59
VAT: £26.52
Total: £159.11

Had the car 8 months and tyre wear shows as:

Fronts: 4mm and 4mm remaining
Rear: 5mm and 6mm remaining
Spare: 4mm remaining.

While the spare is a spacesaver wheel, wouldn't it come with around 7mm of tread.
Wheel has never been used / taken out.

No, space savers come with quite a shallow tread. They're expecting it to hardly do any miles in its life, so they don't allow extra tread to wear away, so in my experience they come from the factory with tread like a fairly well worn but not worn out tyre. And will stay like that for the life of the car.

Well, I didn't know that. You learn something new (nearly) every day on this Forum.

Cheers.

Actually my monthy payments are £10 a month cheaper than my mk3 focus which represents a saving of £360.

Got my first service tomorrow (19k on the clock). Be interesting to see what they charge me. With my last two Audi's it worked out cheaper to pay for the servicing as I went, rather than paying a one off fee when ordering the car. I've done the math, there isn't that much in it, but I have mine on the long life service plans and it has proven to be cheaper (for me) to pay as you go. Back when I worked in the city and didn't use the car during the week, it worked out the other way. I was only doing about 10k a year then. I'll find out what the butchers bill is tomorrow.

My bill was £330 @ Essex Audi yesterday for the first service at 19,500 miles/12months. So, not too bad and they gave me a decent A6 for the day. That equates to £26 a month, so still working out cheaper than the service plan I was offered. Time will tell if that works out, but only my last two Audis, pay as you go was the better option for me. Tyres have worn well, still got 5mm on all four. My only gripe was being kept waiting around while their service staff turned up late for work.

My 184 quattro has now done 16,500 miles and is on long-life service so I expect the service indicator to appear soon - between 18 and 19k on my previous A3s. I asked my dealer for a price for the first long-life service and they have quoted a total of £276.67 including VAT. Apart from the tyre that I had to replace recently because of a puncture on the way to Germany, my other tyres are down to 3mm so they will need replacing soon as well.
