New 2015 RS3!!!

Comfort package is a pretty good deal. Priced up separately you would be 1390. You get it for 1150. Plus you can't spec the interior lighting package separately. However they list light and rain sensor and windscreen with sunband and acoustic glass as part of the package, but they are listed as standard features.

Seems like there are still some inconsistencies.

I thought this RS 3 was not in limited numbers? Is that the case or not?

I will be waiting to drive one before I make up my mind. Spec is saved in the Configurator for when the time comes.

They are not setting a limited number, but it will be subject to the usual RS model limits of x per dealer per quarter.

As said by others; need to drive one

My worry is that they have sanitised the car and made it dull ...

Does anyone know if those youtube vidoes were with the sports exhaust?

Haha no we don't, but it sure sounds it.

On another note, that is my order now gone through, just awaiting a build date! :D

I am seriously considering changing my current RS3 for the new version. I love the current one but have added lots of miles to it in nearly 3 years and now my daily commute has drastically reduced so I will be able to keep miles on a new one a lot lower. I am a little shocked about how much the new one will cost with my ideal spec (OTR £49,100) up from the current one (was £43,700) £6k feels like a big jump, but as long as the car is a small improvement in all area’s as the initial reports suggest I’ll cope with the cost.

My only real dilemma is: do I go for the sports exhaust and mag ride (dynamic pack)?? I have fitted the 2ndary cat bypass pipes to my existing car and love the sound of the 5 pot so think I will prefer the sports exhaust, but I have no desire to have mag ride.

Does anyone know how the stand suspension (on other RS Audi’s, as I know no one has driven the new RS3 yet) compares? I know the mag ride will have a super stiff setting that wont interest me on UK roads, but is the dynamic setting comparable to the std suspension and then has a softer setting than standard as well, or is the softer setting comparable to std suspension and the other 2 are stiffer? My dealer has advised he wouldn’t order the dynamic pack and look at an aftermarket sports exhaust after delivery, but I can see a miltek or similar being more than £1495 any way so I may as well order the dynamic pack.

When audi say sports exhaust it will be the same one with a silencer removed, so don't order it and get an exhaust place to remove a silencer

Audi won’t build a faster RS3 Plus

http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/audi-rs3-plus-2015-04-15

WTF? "We are at the limit of the size of the turbocharger. We have durability limits and our warranties to consider, which we learn from summer and winter testing."

Power increase between old 2.5T (plus) engine and this new? one has been minimal ... I fear that all investment goes to 2.0T and 3.0T.
And a "simple" 2.0T, A45 is coming with 375bhp... o_O and 3.0T from M2 will be far ahead.

It's not all about raw power though, it's about how useable it is. Iv driven cars with insane amounts of power with only about 50% of it useable unless you were on a super smooth road or brands hatch.

I haven't read anywhere in any reviews anyone saying it was underpowered. Most of them complement it on how blisteringly fast it is

I think 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds will be plenty fast enough for most of us :)

Quite a few pops and cracks in this video!!

NOTE - This car does have the sports exhaust as stated on the link.

100% perfectly said... The on-road dry/wet/sub zero/snowy day-to-day performance of an AUDI RS3 is staggering.

3.1/2 year of ownership and I love mine still: BLUEY's a keeper...

Yes, with a larger and heavier turbo, would have to put the larger front wheels as standard. And move more components, in addition to the battery to the trunk.

However, there is no doubt that it is very fast. Just saying that 2.5T is already at the "limit".

Not if you have a Golf R400 next :D

2.0T, 414hp.
0.62mph in 3.9 seconds.

Not only that - it's about making the vehicle as balanced as possible, I read somewhere that they've already moved the oil pump to the rear of the car, a larger turbo will probably require a greater oil supply pressure; especially one that's equivalent to the size of a basketball which was mentioned somewhere. You've also got other issues then to compete with - oil cooling for a start and with a larger turbo you've got the issue of needing a greater inlet air supply also (engine bay room is tight as it is) Then not to mention the increasingly stringent emission laws to comply with.

I'm not saying it's impossible - my guess is it's more of a happy medium and probably the best they could get to ensure they retain the Audi quality and reliability. Don't forget these cars are sold all over the world also so what is achievable from an engine in our climate may not necessarily be achievable in another. You've got to have consistency throughout your target market something which I imagine is very difficult for a designer to guarantee an engine output in Finland and give the same performance in South Africa with varying qualities of fuel and humidity etc

I like the look of that.

Not keen on the huge fluorescent tube they've stuck on the back as a brake light though ha

So, if you were inclined, your could spend nearly £56k on something sharing a chassis with an Octavia! (not that there is anything wrong with an Octavia!)

2.5t at the limit? Apart from the 520 horses in the A3 Clubsport and 0-60 in 3.6 secs i Totally agree with you ;-)

99% of the time when Audi say something like this its marketing bullpat, translation "we cant have the RS3 being faster than the RS4" we all know the 5 pot will run at 400bhp all day long without breaking a sweat

Concept car not going to production. Quattro manager said: "It was just a concept car, a one-off ... the turbo in that car was one-and-a-half times bigger than the one in the new RS3"

They can use evolution 2.0T with 414hp for RS3 Plus, cheaper, lighter, less fuel consumption and faster :D

Is the Daytona grey pearl effect paint the same as the grey coloured 8P RS3?

How much for that cat? I'm in the dealers now putting my RS3 order through so I could do with a cat to finish it off

Move to Germany!! You can't in the UK. Sports exhaust can only be specced in conjunction with mag ride in the dynamic pack! Great pic!

Thats my order in and deposit paid. Iv got a delivery date of early September
