Can the springs be cut down on the a4 b5 tdi avant.
I've not had them off to see if there pig tailed so was just wondering if anyone has done them before.
Thanks
My advice is DON'T CUT SPRINGS.
Buy a set of either OEM sport springs or S4 springs. Eibach do some very good pro-kit springs. I have them on my B6 and can't fault them at all. They are about ~£150 for a 1.9 tdi..... E1539-14 is for Quattro models. or E1537-140 for FWD models.
With cheap(er) springs, just make sure they are correctly weighted for the car. Some may be too stiff and your ride will be horrendous, on the flip side they could be far too soft and make the handling dangerous.
Try and source a good set of used oem SPORT or S4 springs......
I was lucky when I got my Eibach springs. Got them at a very good price.
don't cut the springs.. this will void your insurance and make your car dangerous. and will fail an MOT with them fitted.
if you want it lower than 30mm buy a set of cheap coilovers
heres my old avant on the coilovers with the 16" wheels
here it is with a set of Eibach's and the 17" wheels. the ride was so much better
these were new at the time. the car did drop some more once the springs settled
I got a set of the cheapest springs off ebay for my parents old 1.8T. They were about 70quid, and did the job, ride was improved no end, height was "tidy" without being too low. Was pretty impressed tbh.
I can't understand why anybody would want to cut their springs. You can make your car look lower by letting out the air from your tyres for even less effort.
