Stage 2+ requirements..

Hi all,
This is my first post so go easy

.
I have been looking at buying an s3 and have a question regarding the requirements for a stage 2+.
From what i can gather from the internet you need a TBE to be able to get stage2+ and not just a cat back exhaust, am i right?

Reason being the car is advertised as stage2+ but I am being told it only has a cat-back exhaust(milltek), whilst I dont mind buying a car that isnt stage2+ I want to know exactly what I am buying.
I havent viewied it yet but apparently it has all necessary paperwork to say its revo stage 2+.

It does need a turbo back as the restriction for stage 2+ is in the downpipe.

Hmm now that makes me wonder how its possible to have the paperwork for revo stage 2+ then!
The guy i spoke to sound very genuine but asured me it only has a cat back! which started the alarm bell ringing as I always thought you needed a TBE for stage 2+.

Could be an honest thing like it had a decat when it was stage 2+ and someone put a cat on it to get it through the MOT but never changed it back.

Could be more than meets the eye at times.

Well i was hoping it was something like that but the guy said it was stage 2 when he bought it and he has taken it to stage 2+
He said he paid for the CAI and the cat back exhaust, which makes me wonder how it could have even been stage 2 without those things already.?

Jesus i'd always rather spend the money myself on mods than buy what other people have done unless it's a forum member on hear and you've read and spoke to the person.. Buy a standard m8 for prob same money and save for the mods your self unless everything is very well documented from standard to modded. An I mean every receipt.

While i'd say thats true, its not always the case... I've bought things 2nd hand and even online and can't be bothered printing off receipts...

My car is absolutely pukka.. Everything pretty much on it has been fine tooth combed... Also the servicing is done by me! No stamp in a book, although I did keep a hold of the receipts for the servicable items... And i'll tell you something for nothing, I feel a lot happier with my work over the dodgy stealers anyday of the week...

Although I agree with you 80% what i'm saying is that the statement you said can also be misleading and could potentially put people of buying my car (so to speak) and i'll tell you something.. You'd be hard pushed to find another in better nick..

Imo you speak to the person, if your not 100% convinced.. Walk away

I agree with what you say and to be fair i have always done my own servicing on my Vag cars but I'm just unsure as to if its even possible to get stage 2+ without a TBE? i think it may be best if i call a revo dealer tommorow for confirmation.

The car comes with all the receipts for the cat back exhaust, fuel pump, CAI and the stage 2+ revo map so im struggiling to see how it cant be but I have doubts on if is possible without a TBE?

It can't be 2+.. The only way to check, would be to get under the car, but thats only if you can determine the difference between a standard and aftermarket exhaust..

It could have previously been 2+ and returned to stage 1 for sale, so just do your homework and check it thoroughly.. Again if your not 100% walk away

Jacko if I was to come to buy yours m8 reading up and listening to u I wouldn't hesitate to part with my cash for yours bud. Like you say if you have the slightest doubt walk away, you know when you want something an if it's right.

It could all be spot on but have a few things not noted, like one blower hot one cold just little things no one thinks of. I'm not being detrimental in the slightest I hope but if ur not 100% and something's niggling u then think real hard about it.

Yeah mate, i'm not getting on at you... So hope you don't think that.. Its just with mine, because of the lack of receipts and service stamps i'd probably have a time of it trying to sell it for that reason ha.. Even tho the last 1 flew out the door.. Getting old and starting to get lazy with receipts
