All going so well i knew it must be too good to be true lol whist i was torquing up the inlet manifold to 10nm which is hardly anything i dont know how this could have happened but got to the last bolt and it just sheared off on me :wtf:.

IMG 2793
IMG 2794

I dont know if it was just a weak bolt but it didnt take alot to snap but its happened now hopefully it will be ok for now till i can get someone to get the sanpped bolt out .

And then just to finish my day off i found out that the New Throttle Body that i had spent a good time cleaning and polishing had a slightly different connector at the bottom even though it was off an AGU Engine it was off a Mk4 Golf so the connectors must be slightly different what a kick in the balls lol :beaten: .

After a quick cleaning and polishing session on the Old Throttle Body it soon started to shine :hubbahubba:.

I didnt polish this Old Throttle body as much as i did with the New Throttle Body but it will do for now so i can get this car back on the road.

Interesting picture, the one with the gasket placed on the the inlet... can you see the wasted power in the casting of the block. the diameter difference of the inlets compared to the gasket... port polishing... port flow... =]

Yeah SHUk will possibly be a future project mate and i think the gasket looks slightly bigger because it was not a genuine Audi Part :audibash:.

No i dont have Cruise Control A3-Lee why do you ask mate ?

I believe the throttle body with the different plug is for cruise control vehicles like mine and I need one lol pm me the part number off it mate

Got the Old Throttle Body installed back on the car and thought i would start the car for the first time i has been started in ages. The car has not been started since i started doing all this recent work on it which is about 6-8 weeks so fingers crossed everthing is ok :anbet:.

The car started fine and everything seemed ok till i could see a little bit of water leaking from the top of the AN - 12 T Piece. It was where the pipe coming off the top of the T Piece had to have a 90 degree bend in it to return to the Coolant Bottle and had split where it was bent on such a 90 degree angle :noway:.

Looks mint Chester999,I bet you can't wait to get it back on road..what may I ask did you use to clean up that throttle body so nice?..

Alright Bobby beale i start off by using Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner which cost about £10 and get it as clean as i can with this product.

Then i will keep polishing with a Dremel with a polishing pad on the end. The main polishing compounds i use are Autoglym Metal Polish and Autosol Metal Polish.

Autoglym Metal Polish £10
Autoglym metal polish 325ml 5038 p

Autosol Metal Polish £10

The more time you spend polishing the more of a mirror finish you will get it just depends how much time you want to spend on it :drag:.

Got round to fitting my AN - 12 90 Degree Angle Hose Fitting today i didnt take any pics last time of installing them so thought i would this time.

I just wrapped a bit of tape around the ends to stop them from getting to scratched up. Put a bit of oil around the thread of the Hose Fitting and then put one end in the vice and clamped a set of mole grips on the other end and just easily twisted it into place.

After fitting my AN - 12 90 Degree Angle Hose Fitting i re installed the coolant pipe and made sure it fitted alright it fitted perfectly so i re filled the car with coolant. Started the car and let it warm up a bit and everything seemed fine. So took her for a drive and she drove beautiful pulling really when on boost and hardly no lag when on lower revs. So i dont know if it was something to do with my oil breather pipes being so serverly damaged why the car was not running write or if it was some to do with the knock sensor problem. But i now have the 034 Motorsports Oil Breather Hose installed so no leaks there and i still have to put the car on VAGCOM to see if the knock sensor problem has gone as i have now cleaned them both right up ?

Heres a few pictures of what the engine bay is looking like so far. I still have alot of goodies to install to tidy the engine bay up alot more but will all happen in good time lol :drag:.

Time for a little update as i aint been on here for about year lol :wtf:. Well in the last year i aint done much on the audi apart from service it and keep it maintained. I did do a few interior mods like install leather seats and re cloth the parcel shelf with black acoustic cloth. It has now got to that time of the year again where i want to start doing more to the audi and get it ready for the better weather if we have any lol :search:.

I finally managed getting round to having the rest of the Audi poly bushed which was Powerflex Front and Rear Front Bottom Arm Bushes , Powerflex Front Top Strut Mount Bushes with Febi Top Mount Bearings but instead of having the normal Powerflex Top Strut Mount Bushes i decided to go for the 10mm Drop Powerflex Top Strut Mount Bushes. And i also had the 034 Motorsport Solid Sub Frame Bushes installed i dont have any pictures of the install as i did not do the work this time i had a good friend at N L Motor Services do the work as i do not have anywhere to work on the car at the moment and any work i have had done on the car in the past has been done by N L Motor Services and has always been spot on cheers nick :salute:.

Normal Powerflex Top Strut Mount Poly Bushes on the left and 10mm Drop Powerflex Top Strut Mount Poly Bushes on the right.

I will take some pictures of all the Powerflex Poly Bushes that have been installed and also take some pictures of the Solid Sub Frame Bushes once i have the car up on ramps i can take pictures easily. Ever since i have had all these Powerflex Poly Bushes and 034 Motorsport Solid Sub Frame Bushes installed the car handles so much better you really feel the difference the car feels so tight and solid going round corners :yahoo:.

Thought i would purchase a set of Toyo Proxes T1R s 225/40/18 for the Audi as my tyres were started to getting a bit low on tread and one of the back tyres had a slow puncture :racer:.
