Hi guys,

Just fitted the forge Twintake and I forgot to fit the Heat shield at the back of the engine. Was a pain in the ase to fit so does the heat shield actually make a difference and do I really need to take it all apart to fit it lol

Cheers

Hello

The heat shield your taking about is the one above the turbo? I would always fit the heat shield as the heat from the engine and turbo could cause your car not perform as it should. Basically the colder the air in through the air intake the better.

Cheers Dan

Ye, I fitted it on my last S3 with the ITG, just its a pain taking it all back off haha so wanted to see if it does actually make any difference?

On the move the airflow through the induction system is such that it won't make a huge impact but when you're sitting in traffic heat rising from the manifold and turbo won't do your inlet piping the world of good over time.

Whichever you believe I would fit the heat shield.

I've just tried to do most of the things that shouldn't be done to the poor old S3!
