hey all, im fitting my budget coilovers the weekend if the weather is good, got some gunmetal plastidip coming for the wheels the following weekend so thought i would throw a pic up for some before and after shots. Engine bay is overdue a good clean too. This thread is long over due really as ive had the s3 two years now and it was standard when i got it, nothing major has happened but done all the mods in my sig myself and had the turbo sent to bill for porting as it is a dodgy chinese copy!-) Ive not got masive plans for the car but would like to get some rods in and go hybrid eventually.

thinking it will settle another 10mm over the next few days, gotta drop the front another 10mm anyway i think feels like its wheelieing atm haha!-) already started to settle more.

wheels are being plastidipped now, halfway through wheels 1 and 2.... feeling pretty light headed atm!-) pics shortly people.

Lol, It stinks, def would get a mask if i do it again... gone for gun metal, looks like its gonna match the blades and inserts pretty well which is what i was after.

just waiting for the last coat to dry on the front two now... taken ages, thought i would be done in a few hours, i was out there at 930!! anyway finally had the bumper of and fitted a proper bracket to hold my fmic as i didnt account for that when i fitted it a year ago and its been cable tied lol!-) also not sure if ive made a mistake... i have been toying with the idea of removing the bottom grill for a while now and i bit the bullet today, cut the lugs of so no going back now eeek... pics soon.

On a side note, she passed her mot thursday with no advisorys!-0

Also since fitting the coilovers i had an un level issue at the back turns out it was just the springs being at a different rotation to each other!? made a massive 12mm difference at only 90 deg difference!

Personal opinion here:

Wheels look good

Missing lower grille looks terrible.

Some you win, some you lose!

cheers prawn, i like this look of sideys car but not sure ive got a clean enough s3 to pull it off!-) it doesnt offend me so im gonna leave it for a while and see how i feel. really happy with the wheels tho, its an odd colour, kinda off grey blue.

I think I preferd the silver wheels lol, does look nice and low though :icon thumright:

I like the exposed intercooler. I think it would look more complete if you fitted a lcr splitter.

ive got a rhino lip splitter on the way to fit next weekend!-) thanks for ur opinions people, toying with the idea of a slight badboy bonnet too which no doubt is another marmite mod. each to their own tho right.

think i will get the pipes welded to the intercooler this summer to clean up the look, need to do a haldex service and cambelt. maybe powertrack insert, then adjustable rear tie arms, wheel spacers, remove resonated centre box then one day rods, hybrid, wmi, intake manifold cometic gasket,.... list is never ending atm lol

intercooler showing is really growing on me, sorry its not to your taste prawn but it works for me!-)

I like the removed lower grill. Considering doing it to mine, would need to get the splitter first though.
