so i'm looking at more power, and with that i'll need to be able to stop better.

Car is on the stock brakes at the moment, a 1.8t quattro (163)

what are my options?

change pads and discs for uprated replacements, i cant figure out whether mine are 312mm or 321mm?
different carriers and bigger discs?

dont want to go nuts money wise, as that's money towards turbos etc :)

was thinking these with some upgrade pads (Ferodos maybe?)

If there is any economical way you can upsize the discs this will give you increased braking over any standard sized grooved ,drilled , slotted or dimpled rotors .

They should be 312s chris ,only the dtm's and 220bhp special editions had the 321's.

thank you :)

and i was trying to work out if S4 discs and carriers would work? with upgraded pads in my original calipers

Im pretty sure the 3.0tdi brakes are the same as the s4? Would probrably be a cheaper route to take

thank you :)

Nope, works on the 320 disc but you'd need the whole setup for 312's.

If you don't want to spend much pick up some braided brake lines, decent pads and change the fluid (grooved discs too if your budget permits).
