Hi all. I went to open my car boot on the weekend and the key goes in about 10mm at a funny angle but wont go anymore?
Is this common?
Any ideas what it might be?
Thanks a lot. Daz

Keep spraying wd40 etc in the barrel, I'm pretty sure it's seized tumblers in the lock barrel. It should free off if you keep spraying and working the lock etc

Was hoping someone would say this. I am in the process of wd' ing it!
The only thing worrying me is the metal bit that keeps water out which normally shuts is stuck open.not sure if that proves its stuck or if someones tried to get in the car?

no mate never got round to it :(
you having the same issue i guess?

tbh ive had so many other things goin on
i want the lock to work to remove the central locking

Mines almost fixed. Lots of wd40 using a straw. Then pushed the key in with a small amount of force. Then removed key followed by more wd40 and repeat. Key now glides in and the lock mechanism is working correctly. Just the little shutter is not fully closed. I suspect with more use/wd40 it will free up and close fully.

I decided it might be wise to repeat on drivers door lock too. Although this was fine to begin with.

Hope you have the same luck.
