I'm guessing this kind of topic may be very common, so sorry in advance if it's the millionth.

My car is currently stock and I wanted to start off with a better intercooler since summer is at the doors. A friend of mine suggested one from Wagner, looks awesome but dayum that price tag, 790$. I'm not building any racecar here nor do I ever hit the track, so I'm guessing it's a bit exaggerated for what I'm after (250/260hp).
What do you guys recommend? Is Wagner strictly necessary or is there something cheaper that will work well anyway? Thanks!

Thank you. I'm looking at the AH website and there are two intercoolers, one is the FMIC version 2 and the other one is the FMIC from Audisport forum. Unfortunately the first one, V2, is way too expensive for me at 600 pounds, I simply cannot afford that now... The second one on the other hand is ok pricewise; is that the V1 you don't recommend anymore in your guide, or is it something different?

From the website -

"Audi S3 intercooler for those that have read about the front mount intercooler conversion on the Audisport forum using a core size of 492 x 260 x 62 mm thick. 51 mm tubes fitted,"

The outlets are too small at 51mm, It's what I've got fitted to mine, but I'm going to be looking at getting bigger ends welded on it.
If you're only wanting 250/260bhp you shouldn't have any issues, that's about what I'm at now.

Only wanting? Man you guys make me look like a whimp!
I think the car already pushes now at 216bhp, I should be more than happy at 260... I hope...

Does the AH intercooler include the tubes? Or do I have to buy those separately? Thank you.

i put my welly cooler together for 220 quid i think. toyosport spec b intercooler 90 quid, 600x300x75mm and search silicone hose straights and bends on ebay after youve been out and measured what you need for an hour or so... dont forget all ya clips either.

oh and a bit of aly angle to make a bracket, im using a staires step protector as its nice and ridgid and 12 quid on ebay, available in various lengths.
