My car has 282cc 0280156065 injectors with a EV6 connector. One injector died and I want to replace all of them. It's remapped and if needed, I'll have the map adjusted after upgrading the injectors.

Which ones to pick for an upgrade? the 386cc will provide enough fuel for my needs.

- Bosch green giants: 440cc, Bosch code 0280155968, EV6 connector - identical to mine

- OEM from Audi TT 225hp: 386cc, Bosch code: 0280155892, longer than mine and with a EV12 connector, which I understand is plug and play with my EV6. These supposedly go deeper into the intake manifold and have a better spray pattern than the green giants.

Which ones to go for?

Hi,

Not an expert on the above, so do hold out on an expert opinion, however...ive heard of many A3's and A4's with TT 386CC injector upgrades as its a straight swap i believe. My friend did this on his 2000 A3 1.8T

IMO, i would go for these.

I think the choice is easier for them as most A3's already have EV12 connectors :D. Luckily, I found a PDF from Bosch (http://www.bosch-motorsport.com/med...Valve_EV_12_Datasheet_51_en_2775957003pdf.pdf) that says:

There is only one injector body size for the EV 12. Various delivery rates and spray-angles are available. The injection valves EV 6, EV 12 and EV 14 are compatible.

Guess I can plug and play EV12 on EV6. I'll go for them if they're priced the same as my stock ones or the Green Giants (£165 for a set). Thanks for the input!

No probs. Good little find too on the injector info direct from Bosch.

Haha, yeah I think give those jolly green giants a miss as the TT injectors should be a sufficient upgrade. May do the same with my 1.8T cabriolet down the line before a remap.

Update: the 386cc can't be found OEM (Bosch), but only as original Audi, around 450EUR per set compared to 215EUR for the Bosch Green Giants. The only downside is the idle can be rougher and the engine cover won't go back on :(

An interesting read on the Green giants (and also their newer, better and cheaper alternatives, EV14 550cc from a certain Mustang), can be found here:

I need to talk with my tuner and will probably ditch the super expensive 386cc for the Green Giants, which could also accommodate a larger turbo in the future, whereas the 386cc would be maxed out (from what I've read) with a k03/k03s, decat, fmic.

Good links! I read both of them. That's the great thing about tuning, you should always be able to get an opinion from somebody who has done what you are planning to do.

Based on both, I would stick with the TT injectors if you're not planning on the big turbo route. It just seems to be a good choice as a lot of Audi Heads have followed suit. Im pretty sure my mate did not buy brand new ones either so the cost was low.

Obviously, if upgrading the turbo past a KO4 then the Jolly Green Giants seem to be the way forward. Damn, they are big things..:D

The used price for 386cc is around £100 per set, I don't want to pay that much for 13 year old injectors that will almost be maxed out on a stage1+ tune and that can go wrong just like 1 of mine did, when the 440cc's are 50% more expensive for a brand spanking new set AND higher flow.

Got a green light from the tuner about the Green Giants! :) will report back after I fit them and have the map adjusted :thumbs up:

Yes, from a point of view point of view, that would make sense. I sense you are going to be doing a lot more mods to come, so the Jolly Green Giants seem better.

Sure, I'd be really interested in your feedback when its all done. Post it here if you can.:blackrs4:

the green giants are rubbish on an ME7 set-up, they just don't respond correctly. either oe 386 or Bosch. Used S3/ TT / LCR injectors will run you to around £60

s3/tt 386cc injectors will see you upto 260bhp on the a4 non return system..

Don't fit green Giants....

Great timing and very detailed responses, especially after I posted links with lots of people saying they work great. There's no way in hell I'm paying £100 for a set of 10+ year old injectors that can leave me stranded god knows where. What happens if one breaks and I just need one? tough luck, people only sell sets of 4.

Anyway, I fitted the Green Giants and the car idled similar to firing only 3 cylinders with my dead injector. Gave it some gas and filled up the lot with unburnt petrol :D ran them on a test bench and they seem to spray identically to the OE ones, but there's just too much petrol to run them without remapping.

YOU CAN'T RUN THESE WITHOUT A REMAP.

It's not the spray pattern it's the response of them. They don't suit later ecus. But you ordered them regardless so pointless information I guess.

I ordered them before reading your opinions against them. And still, there are people for which they work great, hopefully I'll be one of them too :)

Very interesting. To be honest, if all goes t*ts up, just replace them as quick as possible and consider it a necessary experiment. Hope it goes well.

Forgot about this thread. Had the car remapped and it idles great and pulls beautifully with the Green Giants. No problems for almost a year.

They get a big thumbs up from me, especially for what I paid. Tuner agreed used ones weren't worth it.
