hi guys, 18 on Monday, got myself a Audi A3 2.0tdi dsg , 1 years no claims from previous car, no points etc, got another years no claims from motorbike insurance too, and the cheapest ive found with a black box (again) is £1800 with tesco, I don't want a black box this year and can afford upto £2500-3000 a year for my insurance, anyone know of any good ones to try? What might help it be lower, any sites on here do cheap insurance? Thank you jack

How was it with a black box? I'm a bit paranoid and sceptical but keep getting offered cheap prices with them.

Edit: not sure why I didn't answer your question or give advice, sorry, to be honest that sounds fairly reasonable given your age and exprtiance. What's your job title and where do you park? (nicked this advice given from my thread haha) their is also specialists for younger drivers but whether or not they're cheaper is a different story, generally works out cheapr if you quote over the phone than online. Best of luck.

Cheers for that mate, and having a box isn't bad, they are quite lean, 5-10mph over limit they aren't too bothered just don't take the mick wise they cancel, I went with ingenie and you can save alot to be honest, I might go for it again considering it's 2k cheaper.

Sorry Jack, our car insurance scheme starts at age 21 :(

Hi, I work in insurance and know that some companies use a telematics device with no restrictions and will only bump up your price at renewal when all the driving data has been collected (if you're driving fast). But the companies only use the driving data themselves so if your#e not happy at renewal you can either leave or cancel the policy and start a new one so they won't be allowed to rate you onthe previous years driving style. hope this helps

i think mine is cheap because of a combination of my postcode and also having my parents on there on a multicar quote. I got a quote for a box that was around £1050 but for the extra £250 might as well pay it and actually enjoy the car lol. im thinking of adding an RNSe obviously i would have to declare it to insurance, i wonder how much extra they will charge.

Silly question but do you have One or both of your paretns as a nameed driver on your insurance ?

Saved me lots of money when i was younger having them on, Now im older it seems to make no difference.
