My car failed it's MOT today because the front tyres have inner wall damage down to the braiding.

I've got 19" 3SDM 0.01 with 235/35/19 on the front and 255/30/19 on the back. Tyres are Kumho Ecsta Its been lowered on Eibachs. Can't remember by how much.

Anyone got any suggestions what to do? Don't really want to just buy more fronts if they are going to do the same.

Someone else had a problem with kumho tyres, side wall splits.
Just change to a good make that don't split.

The fronts are 8.5" wide and I think et35.

Would Pirelli p zero silvers be ok?

Make sure when changing wheels or height of the car allways get the alinment checked, for the sake of £15/20 it will save the tyres

When lowering the B7 you will always get inner tyre wear. No matter what brand or size tyres.

Only if the tracking hasn't been done properly, I've used different brands of tyres on my wheels and all have been fine when driving low, each time I set a new driving height I make sure to get it tracked

The design of the suspension will give you more camber as you lower the car. If you go really low then you get a lot of positive camber, great for turn in on corners but terrible for tyre life. The best you can do is make sure the tracking is spot on, If you have only lowered the car 30-40mm then it should be OK if the tracking is sorted.

Karl.

You can get camber correcting superpro bushes to go in the top arms for circa £110 off ebay and the likes, or adjustable top arms from Awesome for circa £300.
