Test drove (yes actually test drove) an A3 yesterday. 2.0 tdi- even though the one I have coming is a 1.4 cod.

Anyway- noticed that if I put my foot down all the way there is a little section right at the end- almost like a click. If it was an auto I would assume it's to quickly change up a gear but it was a manual & I couldn't work out its purpose. Clues?

They use the same pedal for auto and manuals. So you were right!

Oh thanks! That was a quick Q&A!! I tried searching but "clicking accelerator pedal" didn't yield any results. Someone can lock the thread now.

There's nothing (well almost nothing) that you can't get an answer to on here........................ damn amazing.

How do I keep my other half happy?

It switches the engine to dynamic mode if you're not already in it to give the engine extra power, deep breath and await the doubters. However this has been covered before and reached the same conclusion months ago. My ford had something similar but did it by sensing the throttle position then temporarily using overboost.

When you're in Eco mode full throttle is 80% power, the click gives you the other 20%. That's about its only use in a manual.
