8 speed multitronic flywheel change

Anyone changed the flywheel on their multitronic yet, my 2.0 tdi is approaching 116k and the flywheel is starting to rattle so a new one is imminent.

Been quoted £1150 by an independent so far and haven't had the heart to phone the main dealer yet.
I know it's a more expensive flywheel than the manual but £1150 seems a bit steep.

Anyone had the misfortune yet?
 
You would love to know that the fancy 8 speed multichronic gearbox is in fact a single speed variable gearbox ! The flywheel is a good 550 quid from dealer however the labour costs are rather high with the garage you mentioned...
 
Damn! I thought it was only manuals that had flywheel issues :(
 
So did I. Part of the reason I went for he now actually reliable cvt,to avoid flywheels.

My cvt multitronic has 144k and no rattle yet.
When does yours rattle?

I have a slight judder which I'm investigating as engine mounts
