Hi, trying to find out the colour of my S3. I've always thought i had a ming blue S3 until recently when we tried to match the colour to fix some rust spots. Ming Blue is alot darker.

I thought the S3 only came in 2 blue colours, Ming and Noggy. I have looked for the sticker in the boot but looks like that disappeared along time ago. Next option is to give audi a call with my vin.

Hi @Crazypete00 I believe there are 3 variations of meng blue. I had this same issue when buying a bumper as I thought I was buying same colour went down to collect it and it was more of a bluey blue (if that makes sense, like yours) whereas mine is darker.

I think the paint codes are different though (should be in the log book), I can’t remember off the top of my head what mine is but I'll check when I get home.

its never easy with these cars. grrrrr. Someone else said it might be azure blue.

thanks Grale, that looks like a good match. i've called audi with my vin just waiting for them to get back to me.

On the german Audi website, you can make a MyAudi account, fill in your vehicle ID number, and it will list all the info they have on the car, including paint colour, factory options, etc.

I had no idea there were different revisions of ming blue! Looking at mine compared to yours they are definitely different shades of ming!

ye defo not ming. called my local audi place, and there is no paint code listed for my vehicle after searching using the VIN. They called another Audi garage and they said the same, they are now contacting an office in Germany to get the details.

@Erikn89nl thanks for the tip. i signed up and registered my VIN - it found that it was an S3 but then has no information listed for my car.

thanks for all the help just heard back from Audi, the colour is LZ5K - Sanorini blue.

So congrats to the winners - superkarl, s3mad_dude and grale1

That's not sprint blue. Sprint blue wasn't available back then. It's kingfisher
Nope. Had a Kingfisher blue Audi and this is different, but looking at the chart above - it looks like Cornflower Blue! Never knew that

My 2011 Audi RS3 is in LY5M Cornflower blue:

And here's Sprint blue, a shiny pearlescent, and Cornflower blue, a flat non-metallic, together:

Cornflower BLUEY is de-badged and now has black-exhaust tail pipes for enhanced stealth.

from what i gather - azure and santorini blue may be the same colour although the paint codes are LZ5k and LZ5J
