Slight surge upon acceleration. s4

Ive came across a slight surge in power when accelerating. Seems to happen more in the lower gears. Power eases off then back on again for a second when accelerating.

Any ideas?

Car in question is an S4
 
Best idea would be to scan it or you could get a million different replies and go wandering off in completely the wrong direction.
 
Hi it's manual, scanned with vagcom today only error was a number plate light bulb not working.


Still get this surge when accelerating, not major just slight dip
 
Check the VAC hoses and pul down unit on the inlet manifold, or the variable manifold maybe sticking.

ideally you need to go into live data and watch and record whats happeneing when you accelerate
it could be literally any one of a hundred things
 
I think I may hopefully have found the problem, coil pack has just gone on me! Maybe it was on its way out causing that surge.
