Just bought an a3 1.8T, all been ok till today, started to make a horrible tapping sort of noise on tick over but clears after 2000rpm, oil warning light has come on but it has oil & no leaks anywhere, any help?
A3, horrible tapping noise, any ideas?

Pull the sump off and have a look at the oil pick up pipe. Very common to block up on the 1.8T engine that have been on longlife servicing previously.
Though to be honest, while it is off I'd think about replacing the pump and pick up anyway if the car has big mileage and you intend to keep it a while.
