hi guys new to this forum, been on plenty before, mlr,st owners ect

having a quick look i have seen my car was owned by a member back in 08,

its ment to be near 200bhp but im really not feeling it, so im looking for a fmic upgrade for a 2003 a4 1.9tdi, having difficulty sourcing one...?

cheers andy

Hi..
The standard IC should be able to handle the 200bhp..
Do You know Wat has been done to make it 200bhp?
I also Got a tdi 130 with a ecu mod, which makes it about 160bhp
Was thinking of a KKK BV43 turbo(from 170tdi) and maybe other injectors..

mine is a tdi 100 mate, it has a 130 hybrid turbo, milltec cat back, derv doctor map, and a stupid huge air filter sat directly above my turbo :keule:. possibley already has injectors but im not 100% on that,

but as a mate pointed out to me last night, my last 2 cars were a 400/400 evo and a 280bhp st so even if it was 200 if will feel like a moped

How would the standard coolers cope with 212hp on a 2.5 v6 been don by dim developments

Standard coolers are good to 270Bhp. What year is yours ? Early a4 b6 tdi quattro had all alloy intercoolers, later had plastic intercoolers so they cannot hold as much boost as early ones !

My a6 avant is still on factory FMIC, altough it's from an early allroad so it's made entirely of aluminium, runs approx 300Bhp !

Injectors are quite dear on the PD 130 engine, nobody in uk knows how to set Bosio or Firad nozzles so they are not popular ! A hybrid turbo will have trouble pushing 200Bhp, even BV43 is laggy on stock hardware. Mine has a remap, EGR delete, BV43, stock intercooler and just been rebuilt and it's still dog slow !

You won't get a direct fit kit FMIC for the A4 Tdi, you will have to get a universal cooler and the buy the pipes and bends to fit it.

it has the alloy coolers and how are you getting 300hp from a diesel

AVB engines(101bhp) with stock injectors cam make maximum 160-165bhp,so you are a bit far from 200bhp.

You can fit AM FMIC,have a look on my build thread,i all ready done it 2years ago.

Mines a 2007 B7 been looking into a IC mod. Make much difference? I'm already running 200bhp but im having that checked out as I was done befor I brought it. Anyone got any suggestions?

I would be more interested in the torque figures than bhp, afterall bhp is top end which in this country you can very rarely use.

Hasn't Gordy just bought a fmic from darkside?

Look at the recent threads mate and you'll find it, not a bad fit but expensive apparently.

I have a plastic cooler I think and it's leaking a tiny tiny bit I noticed.

A bv43, fmic, egr delete, straight through exhaust and your sorted.
Injectors are fine for the power you can get on pd130s

If you want mega power from a derv buy a 3.0tdi

Sorry new to the world of Audi, bv43? Fmic? EGR speaks for itself lol.

FMIC = Front Mount InterCooler

BV43 is a turbo derivative from the later 2.0tdi 170bhp Audis.

Just reading this fourm and looking for some similar advice. I have a a4 b7 1.9tdi bke Pd engine and I had my turbo rebuilt and it's now capable of approximately 220bhp, I had a custom remap that I'm happy with running roughly 180bhp, if I wanted to get the full 220bhp would a front mounted intercooler and bigger injectors be all I need? And if so what's involved. Thanks

The BKE is a 115bhp engine. Had a look at what injectors were fitted and they are only good for the power you are running ATM.
They are 038130073BH injectors
0 414 720 230PDE-P1.1/80/465S230 VW(VOLKSWAGEN) 038130073BH
Swapping to larger injectors off a PD130 will give you the fuel and a FMIC would definitely help especially in the summer as the standard SMIC gets easily heat soaked if using the performance.
Changing injectors isn't that hard. I would definitely recommend new seals and the replacement of the small pinch bolts. Don't reuse these as they are stretch bolts and if not tightened correctly can come loose and result in a wrecked head.
Here is a link to a write up I did on UK Passats

Heres a link to the FMIC install on a B5.5 Passat , very similar to a B6 A4.

Your other issue will be the clutch. not sure how much torque you are running ATM but you will probably find you have clutch issues when remapped. You could get the remap torque limited which will help.
