Saloons are so pretty :)

Every time i look at my car i can't help but think that the A3/S3 saloon is by far the most attractive saloon car available to buy. It brings a smile to my face every time i see it and thats before i've even sat in the thing.

Funny thing, I went to get some petrol today at shell and the lady at the counter mentioned how nice it looked.
Had a delivery today, and the delivery guy said the same thing, twice in 1 day! LOL

Everyone keeps eyeing up my car, getting bit paranoid!!!

However, they are pretty impractical compared to the sportback.

Luckily i don't need to move a washing machine every day so it meets my practicality needs

And it has a bigger boot than a sportback. I got 2 bodies and a spade in mine the other day.

Hatchbacks are all boringly common in the UK and the sportback is never going to stand out from the rest of the crowd or look as good as the saloon does.

Not wanting to take anything away from the HB and SB but i've had HBs all my life with the exception of a T reg Volvo S40 and am so glad i went for something a bit defferent this time around

Guys just wondering, whats the main differences between the saloon A3 and the A4? Obviously the A4 is bigger and more expensive? Why would someone buy one over the other?

I'm coming from a A4 saloon to a S3 saloon. Just wanted something a bit smaller, still with a boot and it had to be an Audi for me

+ the current A4 has been almost the same, albeit a refresh in 2012, since 2008

The a4 is old and due for a replacement, plus the a3 drives far better and has neater proportions..

I've had four hatchback A3s before my saloon and I have to say that I'm struck by how many people have commented on how good the saloon looks when hardly anyone ever commented on the looks of the hatches.

Love my HB as I think it looks a bit different being an S3 with 10 spokes. Not a big fan of the SB.....think it looks out of proportion (sorry) but have to agree that the saloon is stunning. Don't understand why the RS3 isn't being released as a saloon.

So I imagine it was solely the engine that tempted you for the B8 RS4 avant then?
In that case, the 3.0T V6 S4 engine (which can be tunable to RS4 like speeds if you so desire), could easily for some, be a decision making factor. Esp when a S4 can be had new for the same price as a S3.

'Twas the fact that it will probably be one of the last normally aspirated (no turbo's) V8's to buy new, thanks to all the metalling by Europe with new emissions regs coming in/already in
