Cab roof not working - anyone in South East?

My '03 plate cab roof is not working, and the roof storage box in the boot is limp, neither up not down and am after either someone to do a scan, or better still, anyone who knows a bit about the convertible roof and can help or fancies a days work? I'm on the Herts/Essex border.

Been told on another Audi forum there is a roof expert around, if you are here, please help :)
 
From what I recall it needs to be in a certain position to allow functionality mate, havnt looked at one for a few weeks but isn't there a lever to lock it or something?
 
as said above, the roof wont work unless the storage box is in the fully down position. Are you getting a message on the DIS saying 'lower storage box' when pressing the roof switch?

I'm in North Herts and have full VCDS so could help with a scan if you are close enough

Cheers guys, as soon as mrsbats gets home I'll go and see if the error message is there when you press the button, from my recollection though there is no message, nothing at all and no movement on the roof. I'll check though

JasonS where abouts are you? I'm near Hertford but family in Letchworth so be handy to have someone local who does scans

On our B6 if the storage box is up then the roof doesnt go down but there isnt a warning
 
Definitely has to be all the way down , if you put it down and then just gently lift it a tiny bit you can here the micro switch.
 
I'm in Royston, up the A10 from Hertford and not far from Letchworth..
 
Hi all. Read through with interest.

Car week old for me when bought roof was working fine but noticed storage box always lowered e.g. arm doesn't fully lock it upwards to give more storage.

I must have fiddled with it so when I came to use the roof today, i got the lower storage box error.

As such I believe my fiddling may have triggered the sensor?

I've done some reading which suggests I manual open and closed of roof should sort. I assume this could solve and get roof working but how do I fix long term or is there anything else I can try.

Feeling disappointed as bought as weekend car but now roof doesn' work due to error.

I'm located in Bedfordshire so happy to travel to folk on here.
