I mean the number plate light surround,guy on the phone called it a plinth?
anyway a bulb change has cost me £55 very sad face

both the plastic bolts that hold the number plate surround snapped off flush too.all for a blinking bulb,
hope these leds last because i aint taking it out again...this is worse than my land rover.

Are you changing just the number plate bulbs or have you got the LED units? Whatever ones you have don't use the original screws that hold the units two the plinth as they rust tight and the heads got chewed up. To save urself trouble later get some small stainless steel cap headed ones on EBay.As for size I got M3x20 but had to cut them shorter.
I did see this on another post and totally forgot, cheers for that.
The new unit even come with new bulbs should think so for £65 they added vat on when i got there

Yeah TPS charged me £31 +vat. No bulbs/lenses in it though...They were about £8 each
Believe there is a metal type and a plastic type of plinth and apparently the plastic one is significantly dearer too??

No worry mate.think it was a difference of metal plastic and all bulbs lenes fitted.

Don't kill me if I'm wrong but I reckon there was a chassis break on the B6 around 03/53 or possibly more precisely 2002 built and 2003 built cars, where some things became different/revised. Iirc Aero wipers came standard from sort of '53 on, the no. Plate plinth became plastic and a bunch of other things too no doubt...
Yeah that would make sense, im 53 plate september so very last of the 53s. when entering reg comes up 2004.
