Does anyone know when the RS3 will be on the configurator?

I'm sure I read somewhere the 2nd of March.

I see its on carwow, there's just no spec to chose from yet.

They want you to put a deposit down,I'd wait

That's the sort of ££££'s BLUEY came in at:

Drove one on the Thursday, found this on the Friday, bought it on the Saturday and it's a keeper...

Surprised Bluey ain't got the Recaro buckets

Nope! Having driven a demonstrator 'with buckets' on the Thursday we tried to order an RS3 on the Friday and were told "all sold". The advice was to "go find one if you can".

On line and BLUEY was one of 3-available in the UK and the only one 'without' the buckets!

100-miles from home and at 08.05 that Saturday morning (they opened at 08.00) the deal was done...

We did NOT want buckets! Still wouldn't have the buckets...

BLUEY was/is as close to spec' as we'd have ordered and 3-plus years on with little or no change.

Nope, did not want the 'buckets' and a few other items too; BLUEY's a keeper...

Circa £46k for a decent spec, if you leave off things you really don't need, such as ceramic brakes and mag ride - e.g. my intended spec: Glacier White/SS Seats/Tech Pack High/B&O/Black Styling/Option Wheels/Sport Exhaust/Folding Mirrors/Light-Rain Sensor ... so, about the same as a new TTS when get down to the nitty gritty of it.

Each to their own, Ben. I've driven oh so many RS3's; some with buckets and some without, and I have to admit that once in I love 'em; but for me and mine the standard seats serve us best.

The only thing I missed from my 2001 S3 (that I just loved and still do) to the RS3 was its sunshine roof; so I bought a Mk2 TT ragtop, quattro, DSG, etc., and the wind-over-the-bald-patch issue was sorted.

I've recently added an absolutely fabulous 1.4TDI A2 to the TT and RS3; parking at the University Hospital of Stoke-on-Trent, or whatever they might be calling themselves today, is the pits! And the A2 manages just right. The A2 is a fabulous motor car that brings the TT and RS3 (or RS5/6/7/etc.) into perspective.

Horses for courses, or so they say...

That said, if I could get an RS7 (not an RS4/5/6 or R8, mind) into the garage then it would already be there...

I did tell you all to dismiss the RS7 at the Stafford event; I wanted that animal out first on the slippy stuff out to Uttoxeter via Sandon - and so it was... :racer:

That's exactly what I'm thinking about ordering. Maybe adding ILP. The light rain sensor will come standard as its combined with the LED lights.

It was for the S3 anyway.

For me depends on paint options , as that bumps it up a lot.

Have you given a single thought to a "Porsche Viper Green" Audi RS3?

Cornflower blue "rocks"...

I couldn't possibly anger The Hulk by looking at other cars to buy.

Spec level would be interesting and may take one out for a drive ( never driven a RS3 ).

Next one is long way off but potentially go saloon, A3 clubsport would do nicely.

Again colour, well I'd leave people guessing like last time.

The Clubsport is screaming for an RS badge.
That might tempt me, even without the debut headline power figures.

viper is the metallic green, I have seriously thought hard about porsche signal green (none metallic RS colour) with black options

i do not want buckets, i spend 4hrs+ a day in it so (plus i am the size of shrek) so want the comfort seat, they have sagged badly on some RS cars but mostly because they are stolen so much and cost 19k to replace from audi

Your getting confused with VW Viper Green which is indeed metallic ( pretty much Audi Java Green ). Porsche Viper Green is a solid gloss colour.

Very possibly

It would be a lot easier if they just had an industry name set for paint codes

Just imagine 50k for a decent spec then wait for the configuration

That's what's concerning me, especially now the focus RS has been confirmed at 350PS and under 30k, it will be interesting to see if the mountune kit takes to 400 whilst keeping the warranty

Audi's do command a price premium as does the A class AMG. Kiss warranty good bye if you start messing.

I'm sure mine can hold its own against the 8P RS3

I was actually thinking of my next door neighbour I'd just left polishing he recently acquired TT ready for today's meet at Stoke Audi; second hand it may be but that man is oh so happy; it's a stunning car too.

My daily driver has an 8Z chassis that's all aluminium; 10-years old, it's a riot to drive, 60mpg at an 80mph cruise, and £30 tax. And I don't claim to be happy - even with an 8J and an 8P chassis in the garage but Bert next door most certainly is...

A2 or RS3 to Stoke? :think:A2 or RS3?

See ya later...

Always makes me laugh people buying a car then immediately it's remap remap remap.....
Why not just go buy something with the power you require out of the box ?

Then you can't blame the manufacturer when things go tits up after meddling.

My missus is very happy and loves her A1 1.6 diesel so beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ( I'm a big fan of the A1, just a bit small inside ).

To answer the OP question - next week. The spec sheet is out for standard car too. LED and heated seats as standard for example. Anyone getting a deal or know how to get a deal through broker on new one?

FORGET the colour; just get one of these Audi RS3 machines; 1st or second generation, whatever...

Just taken BLUEY for a 'spirited' drive around Cannock Chase and have arrived back saying WOW! What a machine, what a machine that is...

Acceleration, braking and turn-in is mega... Frighteningly good.

A couple of weeks away from my 70th and the RS3 is in my TOP two road cars driven ever....

The other is the RS7; but that'll not fit the garage, so best not go there...

Sort that Dave and you can order one for me in any unassuming colour you like; and don't bother with the rental, the cash is already in-hand...
