I know a few people have has success modifying a flywheel from an Audi 80 but I just want something off the shelf to work. Especially given the amount of faff the off the shelf bits for my turbo swap ended up causing.

Have found PSI Tuning so it as a kit all in for a smidge over £500 which is pretty reasonale I think

TTV racing do a flywheel that takes a standard S4/RS4 clutch. AFAIK its basically the same as the ECS one, but made here in the UK and a bit cheaper.

I'm liking your thinking there. Is it just a case of buy a TTV flywheel and then buy a stock S4 clutch kit? If you know, info seems a little thin on the ground

Found TTV but no price list

And clutch, assume stock will be fine as even tweeked the torque and lack of 4WD should give it an easier time.

IIRC the ECS kit comes with an adapter for the clutch slave cylinder. I can do without too many more headaches as the mrs is losing her sense of humour with me messing with it.

I'm also thinking of clutch upgrade on my 1.8TQS. Would DMF of Audi RS4 with clutch kit fit to my car? As found one cheap, nearly new, but do not know if it fits.

Yeh, GSF do a LUK brand clutch for the RS4 for about £150, which should take anything your 1.8T can throw at it, given its designed for a 380hp motor!

Marks just bought one so he should know how much the flywheel costs.

Dimo: No the RS4 DMF will not fit.

Thank you aragorn. Should I change DMF to SMF if I am not going over 230bhp? It scares me that I will lose some comfort in everyday use car.

Ttv and gsf rs4 clutch here. I've only just fitted it so cannot comment on longevity but it looked stunning. Ecs kit much the same but comes with bolts and longer slave rod. That makes ecs marginally cheaper but I wanted access to help or warranty should I need it.

not sure why you need a longer rod unless ECS have fked up the clutch geometry?

I did notice the ECS one looked a bit thinner than the TTV.

So is the TTV flywheel a dual mass? What was the cost Byzan please?

I thought most if they were upgrading swapped to a redrilled single mass from an S2? So is this just a way of keeping a dual and using a higher rated clutch that is not too heavy?

It was just over 300 delivered and 152 for the clutch trade. I then added arp bolts at 35.

TTV racing: ''The flywheel will only work on the 6 speed cars, there is not enough room in the 5 speed gearbox for the larger clutch.''

Confused now...

TTV is a single mass unit.

Is basically the same principles as a 1z/S2 setup except the ttv unit is a custom unit to take the higher rated S4/RS4 unit.

That's rubbish. There isn't a b5 1.8t 6 speed. And it's in mine no problem. Unless all this time I've not been using 6th. .... lol

But then again isnt the B6 1.8T able to use this flywheel and uses 6spd so maybe TTV are forgetting about the old B5 chassis !

It's actually boxed and labeled b5. Lol anyway it fits as does I assume the ecs one. It's no larger dia than the 1z one coming off

On their website they state that flywheel will Upgrade 228mm Clutch to S4/RS4 240mm Clutch for Audi A4 B5 1.8T. But on the email they saying it won't fit. Gotta ask them again.
