So after I had a day at Crail Raceway last week and posted some videos and times, Andrew from DTUK got intouch with myself and asked if i would like to try out new files available for the FSR tuning box. I sent my box back to him on Monday and recieved it back with the new files on Wednesday.

Couldnt do much testing yesterday as as it was raining but today the roads are bone dry :thumbs up:

I used to use map 3 +3 as this seemed to give the best times and although it was excellent the extra power was mostly felt over 3k Revs.

The new 3 +3 file however is Mega. Power comes in alot sooner and stronger it really does change the feeling of the car completely. LOVE IT. :racer:

I recorded some 0-60 times today using VCDS.

With map 3 +2 0 - 60 was 4.0
with map 3 +3 0 - 60 was 3.9

My battery on my laptop died so i couldnt compare it against the old 3 +3 map which is now map 1.

Going to crail in a few weeks so looking forward to compairing the times with my previous runs.

Nice, just what i want to stop thinking about stage 2. Hahaha.
Will consider to send my box to Andrew.

I've also got this update, the difference is excellent. Really changes the feel of the car. Almost replaces the need for a pedal box. Boost comes on so much quicker.
5 seconds to full tune on the previous map
1.3 second iirc on the new map
Worthwhile for anyone who has one

Andrew has been in contact with me about the update. Taking the box out the weekend and will get it sent off. So I can look out for a massive difference?

Definitely a noticeable difference. You won't be disappointed anyway.

This sounds good, so if the power comes in earlier does it still pull at top end or does it drop off earlier too?

Andrew, are these new files released on new boxes yet or are they Beta files?
Cheers

So how do those of us in Australia get this new file?

The files have been flashed on all boxes from Monday of this week.

Sounds good, my box is coming off tomorrow to get the car serviced, can you flash the new files on my box if I send it down to you Andrew?

Innes

My box just shipped from Andrew last week. Hope it is the new map version.

Ordering an RS3 next week plus my car insurance is due so decided to take the box off and sell.

Yes mate, The FSR is suitable for the current rs3 and rsq3 so if I was a betting man id say it's going to work in the new RS3 too .. I'm ordering one too which will be used for development, unless the guys in Germany beat me to it

Brilliant! I'll hold on to it and give you a shout when I get the car and see if you can get some new wiring looms and software on my box :)

What performance gains we expecting from the new map any more torque and power trying to decide this or actual remap?

We have dyno sheets supplied by ASN members running the old software, of 375hp and 460/470nm of torque, and no warranty issues or td1 flags,

Should have some dyno feedback for the old and new later this week

I'll have to be honest and say that the after sales support by you guys down here in Australia is abysmal. I've put through numerous emails and posts (over the last months) here about getting the updated files down here and not had a single response from anyone. If you plan to sell globally, you need to put in a procedure to support those customers somehow.

That's my rant. Regardless, I'm making the switch across to Revo. I'm in this weekend for it. Not because your box is poor, but because I've always planned to switch to a proper flash tune.

i personally replied to your email that we received last week stating that i would contact a customer of ours over in Oz that is in a position to reflash the box for you.

As for updated files, they've just been released within the last ten days.

So I also received my Tuning box back this morning with the updated files from Andrew. I have been driving round since Saturday with no tuning box on and pedal box turned off as i wanted to remind myself of what the S3 was like when it was back to standard.

Well i went straight into the 3+3 file as i wanted to see what it was all about and took her out for a quick spin this afternoon, still with pedal box turned off... WOW she moves!! I've only had 15 or so miles worth of the fun and all on 3+3 but i can tell you for sure its a huge improvement over standard for anybody looking to get one of these boxes and a very impressive improvement over the original 3+3 file for anybody who already has one. Power is delivered a lot earlier and the car feels generally a lot more perkier. I'm booked in for a dyno run on Friday at P-Torque so should be interesting to see what kind of figures we see with new against old files. I don't think DTUK claim anymore power out of this new file just the way it is delivered but to me it feels like it has a bit more grunt... maybe because I have been driving around on a measly 300BHP for 3 days:lick:;)... Time will tell but i definitely agree with RYuill & Marc18 comments above

Apologies for noob response but what exactly is this magical box, where can I get it etc?!

TX.

Its a tuning box supplied by a company called DTUK. You can pick them up from the company themselves or speak to 'Abyss'(andrew) who has commented above and he will tell you everything you need to know mate.

Innes, your box will be with you tomorrow :)

Cheers Andrew, if it comes in tomorrow that's what I call super fast service as I only posted it to you yesterday lunchtime looking forward to it.
Thanks again mate

You got a confirmed time yet George? Will make sure I pop down if I'm back from work. Hopefully with my box back on with the update as Andrew has updated it today

Super fast service from Andrew and his team once again, I recieved my box this morning and looking forward to hitting the loud pedal on the way home tonight.
On a side note I would just like to say that my car was in for a service yesterday and while I did remove the FSR box I did leave the wiring in and used the supplied blanking plug, my car required them to do a scan on it and I can confirm there was no issues and no TD1 flags.......Result!!!

Cool would like to see if power and more importantly the torque figures if they've improved from the old software.
I'm still on the fence deciding on either the box or actual remap as the below post the torque and power looked very low but not sure if was the dyno or just the car.

Tuning box Power: 343bhp
Tuning box Torque: 315ftlb

I find it strange th the lowest figures we've ever seen were produced on a remappers dyno..

They certainly don't match th various independent customer graphs/ results that have been posted on here .. #gofigure

Innes,

We won't of adjusted your module but if I was you I'd try 3 plus 2 then 3 plus 3.. A couple of DSG owners have said that plus 2 feels better

Ok I'll nip through to the workshop and see if they have any tork bits and change it before I go home although I do have a very rare Manual gearbox haha
Cheers Andrew
