RS4 replica's on S3

Size: 235/35/19's (122PCD 5 stud / ET35)

I was sold these by Wheelbase under the pretense of them being ET45's, but the rears still rub under damper compression. Turns out the receipt has been ****** to say ET45 and they actually appear to be ET35's based on the cladding paperwork which separated the wheels

Please also be aware that aftermarket rims can have questionable quality finish. I purchased these as I really disliked the OEM rims' but due to spending on mods had a limited budget. I bought unsighted, and already I have had them fully refurbed inside 6 months to get an acceptable quality finish. They have a high number of weights on them to balance them, and they are heavy to start with. If you are considering wheels I strongly suggest you buy branded (e.g. BBS/OZ/OEM wheels) either new (if you are minted), or look for second hand (if you are on a budget). I will use these as I have them, but they will never be great wheels.

I totally agree with the post regarding replica alloys ,they are heavy need loads of weights to balance them and why oh why do they make them 8j instead of 7.5j so your original tyres off your old oem alloys are not protecting the rim also they never run straight. Its right you only pay for quality at the end of the day.I wish i waited for oem's to come up and you can get some at a good price if you wait.

Don't suppose anybody has pics of the new shape rs4 wheels, probably 19" reps...fitted to an s3 sportback?

Has anybody upgraded a standard or SE (without sport suspension) A3 Sportback from its 16" factory alloys to larger? Looking to do same but would be good get any pics and a feel for whether any other modifications need to be done to achieve it.

A3 2004 TDI SE from 16" to rs4 18" alloys.. still too much of a gap so im not sure whether to go with coilovers or 19's and bigger tyres to fill up the gap? Opinions?

19s and bigger tyres wouldn't work. that car needs to be lowered to achieve the desired look

Are you sure?

yes. if done correctly then changing the size of the wheels on your car doesn't change the overall circumference of the wheel and tyre together.

effectively you just change the wheel:tyre ratio. for example, a 16" wheel will probably use 205/55/16 on the audi a3. whereas a 18" wheel will use 225/40/18. the overall circumference is the same, but with the 18" wheel you have less tyre and more wheel.

so, the arch gap hasn't changed, it just looks like it has because you're using a lower profile tyre and larger wheel. if you change to a 19" wheel, you'll have even more alloy and an even lower profile tyre - making the arch gap look worse.

the way to achieve the look you want, i.e. get rid of the gap, is to lower the car.

What about using a 19" alloy with i dont know for example a 235 or 240 profile tyre?

Hi everybody. Last week i bought for my A3 sportback a set of BBS RS861 19x8,5J ET48 and a fk streamline coilover. I have ordered a new set of tires 235 35 R19. What do you think,if i'm lowering it to the level of the arch, will it rub? If you have some picture with 235 35 19 on 8.5J ET48 without spacers please post it.

And a picture of my car with the current summer setup: OZ Allegerita 18x8 225 40 18

Hi all,

I've just joined as I have just purchased an Audi A3 2.0 TDI Quattro S Line and love it.
I have had a browse at the cars and wheels on this thread, and their are some amazing cars here.

Quick question, I like the Audi A5 Y spoke alloys, is there any way to fit these to my car, or is there a company that does replicas?

thanks for your help.

Anyone fitted a set if TT speedline 10 spokes to a A3?

Original speedline in 18". I dropped the car with H&R -45mm two weeks ago (from the -35mm springs).

Had a5 alloys on my old 8p,only needed to change the bore as its a 66.6 instead of the 57.1.

you will need spigot rings off ebay for under a tenner.Make sure that your tyre profile will allow the wheel to turn without rubbing.

had to raise my coil overs slightly to accommodate it.

Hehe my car .... well new owner anyway .... They not black, but where more of a dark purple; looked great in the sun.

Not sure of their official name but they are 18 x 9 and ET52

Would be right on the specs; they came of the Audi TT MK2 if i remeber right as a option wheel, I did have a part number for them ... Very nice wheel.
