So......used the S3 for the first time in a week this afternoon and had various warning lights flash as soon as the ignition switched on. Did a forum search, but couldn't find anything specific. Warnings were:-
  • Start / stop not available
  • ESP not available
  • Hill hold assist not available
  • Battery low - will charge when driving.
  • TPMS fault.
Now, very possible the battery charge is low as it doesn't get driven a massive amount in this poor weather (strictly weekend / good weather car) but it is driven at least once a week. I drove the car off the drive and all of the warnings instantly disappeared apart from the Start / Stop warning. Drove a mile, pulled over, re-started and this cleared too.

Drove around for a good 40 minutes so hope that's given the battery a fair amount of charge before I drive it again. Obviously a lot of faults to have in one go and I guess it's battery related?

Has anyone else had this ? Appreciate if anyone could shed some light on it. :)

Not sure about the rest, but the Start/Stop will usually be unavailable until the car has been driven some distance. Not sure whether it's engine temperature/ oil temp or something else. There is also a VCDS change which can be made to permanently disable the stop/start, and that revolves around changing a voltage value, so the flat battery may have some bearing as well.
No doubt someone will be along soon to assist with the others, but it may turn out they are all down to low voltage.

I would say that all the warning lights were related to the battery voltage level being low, especially as when you had driven a few miles they all went away. The Start/Stop system monitors all sorts of things in the engine and also the state of the battery and will only operate when all these parameters are met hence the Un-available warning.

Is the car kept in a garage? If it is it may be worth considering one of the devices that keep the battery topped up when it is not be used very often.

As above, battery level. Wouldn't worry about it.

What are your driving habits as a battery shouldn't be low after a week?

As above, c-tek are the best to use, great devices.
