I've just had my car serviced about a month ago and i didn't even think about making sure my haldex system needed it aswell!
If it does need servicing how often does it need doing and is it a expensive job?

Cheers in advance

Yes of course it does! Every 38k. Na its not that expensive, you're talking under a hundred quid if my memory serves me right.

Oh yeah! I'll have to look through my old service history then and find it! Cheers bud

Yes the oil should be changed every 20k, oil and filter every 40k

Its 38k. But I doubt it would make much difference waiting to 40k. Also as a side note, I wouldnt be waiting 20k to change engine oil!

Maybe it changed with the Facelift but 100% no filter on mine ;-)

we carried out a haldex service yesterday on a facelift 2007 plate car, that had a filter, PN 02D-598-574 iirc, and tbh i have never seen an S3 without a filter

actually looks like from 2010 onwards they (for some reason) done away with the filter

So i stand corrected

Mines a 58 plate, so one of the first facelifts and I believe it runs the Gen 5 haldex system...

Gen 2 has a filter, gen 4 onwards has no filter. I believe audi began using gen 4 my08 or my58
