New 2015 RS3!!!

looks very poor, coffee cans on the back look chavy, hate the pop up halfords tv screen

LOVE the seats, they look superb

it looks a lot of fun on the snow

in an article audi said they are looking into an RS3 4 door :D

the pop up screen is actually pure quality and a step up from the offerings from VW in their golf R and the amg stick on goggle box. I love the fact I can drop it out of site when not needed and when needed, the graphics are excellent and it oozes quality. I take it you have not actually sat in a new A3 ;)

I don't believe the new RS3 will have a base price as much as £45k. The price leak of 56600 euros was not the RS3 but the RSQ3, So i reckon somewhere in the region of £42k. My dealer estimates around that price as well. Regardless of the base price, I have a pre order deposit paid for and will have one landing in summer :)

No one knows for sure, but my dealer has made some calls and thinks it'll be around 40k. If it's 45k, as some are speculating, I'd just hang back and wait six months for a demonstrator to go on sale with the right spec and save the £5k I would have spent. Did exactly that with my TTRS and got a car with just 4k on the clock and saved five grand off list price. Car was four months old and was still eligible for the lower finance deals they'll give on a 'new' car

Hard to work out if super sports seats (as I have in my S3) are standard on the new RS3? I know carbon backed buckets are an option, but I don't fancy having to spend more money for those. I just want the same seats as in my S3, not the standard sports seat, which I foud a little unsupportive when cornering - hence going for the SSS in my current car. Anyone know the answer to that? The dealer can't tell me yet. Planning to order a new RS3 in June this year :)

I don't think the SS seats will be standard, from what I've seen on the the clips of the new RS3, I have seen the standard S-line seats in them. Im with you though, I have the SS seats in my S3 and definitely planning on getting them in the RS3. I think the optional bucket seats will be a very expensive option. Would be great if the SS seats were standard.

Thanks, I think you could be right. My concern is they'll be two choices, one - the standard sport seat or two - bucket w/carbon back. I'm hoping SSS are a third option as I can only guess how much audi will charge for the carbon buckets! I've seen a few pics of the SSS in the new RS3, with red stitching - on my s3 it's white stitching, but I can't tell if they're carbon backed? Guess we'll have to wait for audi to hurry up and get the spec online. I'm also hoping the gloss black wheel option is to my liking, as none of the alloys I have seen in pictures look that great. I'm currently hoping to spec with gloss black design pack, sport exhaust - black oval pipes of course, gloss black wheels, the usual combo of sat nav/B&O/park sensors, etc, etc and yeah, well, either glacier or nardo - not sure yet. First car in ages that I'm really looking forward to owning...

I reckon all 3 seats will be available. Sounds like your spec will be similar to mine, glacier white with black pack, quattro logo on the grill, B+O, park sensors, reverse cam and most definitely sports exhaust! I have put down a £500 pre order deposit to secure an order as soon as they are available which my dealer tells me first week of march. He reckons the V spoke wheels from the RS4 will be an option, I'm hoping so anyway. It does look like LED headlights will be standard as they have been on all the pictures and videos released.

Nice video here.

I really like the look of this car.

The look is not much different from an S3 in my opinion. But the engine note is to die for!

But the same can be said for the last RS3 - or any other RS over an S in the Audi range IMO.
The visual tweaks are fairly subtle but enough to distinguish it and as you note, the main difference is the engine / performance / sound !
The exhausts on the new RS3 are a vast improvement over the last RS3 though.
As a package to me it is a very appealing car and I quite like the styling being fairly understated - rather than shouty like say a Focus RS.
For an owner who already has a previous-gen RS3 I imagine the justification to change would be less clear.
Myself having had a TTS, now S5, an RS3 next is appealing to me a lot.

Have to disagree somewhat on the visual aspect. The current RS3 has wider front arches, and the RS4 has wider arches both front and rear. The new RS3 is identical in the metal; only the front and rear plastic is different in terms of the body.

Perhaps ....... not looked at it in that detail tbh.
Audi to tend to lean towards 'safe' styling though lately.
Maybe the differences will be more apparent in the flesh too.
Looking forward to seeing and driving.
The engine & soundtrack should be exciting regardless.

The new RS3 has wider front arches according to the press release.

The front track is 24mm wider, so just 12mm per side. There is no mention of widened arches like there was with the 8P RS3. By comparison, the 8P RS3 had an extra 42mm of track at the front.

The wider arches are mentioned on the swedish audi site translated it says " the aggressive side profile is enhanced by the door sills and the wider wheel arches". Look closely at the pictures in the 8V section in the forum there is one frontal shot that shows it (post 268), looks like they are wider than the S3 to me. It might not be as wide as the 8P but it's supposed to be there. The other possibility is that the info on the swedish site is wrong :)

Fair do-es, looking at those images side by side there is a difference. It's nothing compared to an RS4, however.

Hi does anyone know will the new 2015 RS3 sportback have the panoramic sunroof or just normal tilt and slide sunroof as an option ?

or not at all like the current model ?

No options are out just yet ,think in 3-4weeks we should have more of an idea ..

Dealer just confirmed to me that the UK base price will be £39,950 inc.VAT. Then of course asked if I wanted to drop him a deposit. Typical... I'll wait until I know the cost of all the toys I'll no doubt add to that. Hoping to keep the price below £45k.

Would have to be the dogs b's...no chance I'd buy one til I'd test driven it

46k buys 8 month old RS5 coupe fully loaded

Very different cars...looking forward to it much muchness

Didn't bother me, I have this amazing device called a Mac - it turns pages over for me at the click of a button ;)

I have Acrobat Pro so can flip stuff too, and there's free software that'll do it on PC. Your Mac isn't special, it just has software a lot of people don't know they can get/how to use.

If £40k is confirmed ..... it sounds like the right price point and Audi have kept it sensible.

Will be interesting to see what delivery dates are quoted and when demo cars will hit garages.

Could be tempted !

Some more info...

Just contacted the dealership to cancel my S3. Ill be ordering an RS3 on 2nd March. Considering spec and options and favouring the following:

Nardo Grey
Gloss Black Kit
Titanium Alloys
Red Calipers
Sports Exhaust
Folding Mirrors
Super Sports Seats in black with red stitching
Audi Stereo upgrade
Hill Hold
High Beam Assist
Cruise Control
Internal LED kit
SD Sat Nav.

If Nardo Costs a bomb ill go Glacier White.

LED lights is excellent news (they are fantastic in the RS6) not so sure on the dynamic steering as its total cack on the B8 RS4

sat nav an extra? (i dont know if its stock on the S3)

I would hope so, was it not standard in the 8P? Hoping there is a saloon in the works! Have just sold my car and possibly having to defect over to MB in the form of the CLA45 as no saloon option for the RS3 saloon

that's my biggest worry, that i will buy one and the following month they will announce the RS3 4 door

personally given the choice of waiting for the 3 or taking the AMG now I would wait because the 5 pot is epic and i found the merc engine a bit meh (but fast), but thats me, the soulfulness / sound of an engine is at least 50% of my scoring on a car, hence i would take the R32 golf over the 8P S3 every time

Nice spec although from my own experience, you'd be advised to go B&O, the *** is crap (have it on my S3). Nardo is I understand £525, as is Glacier - am considering that colour for my RS3. Most S3 options are there for the RS, including panoramic sunroof, SS seats, etc... I'm still trying to decide on my spec. Now I have seen the prices and options, it's topping out at £46k, which works well for my PCP budget - around June I think is when most of the dealer demo cars will arrive in the UK? Will order once I have driven one - I never buy cars without seeing/driving. Made that mistake with the Mk2 R32 -ended up managing to swap for a gti.... phew.

I doubt Ill go B&O for 2 reasons. 1) I want to hear that 5 pot burble and 2) My Mrs is constantly telling me to turn the music down. If Nardo is £525 then I am all over it. Not going to go Pano roof as I am going to get the roof carbon filmed. Same as you budgetwise Mark. Having an extra couple of months over my original S3 delivery date will help has I can bump up the deposit to manage the monthly payments. Winner

According to Overview (Page 7) Nardo is a Standard Exclusive Colour and Catalunya Red is An Exclusive Option.

Dave, my concern is that, in waiting for the saloon, I could be waiting for someone that never comes along!

I'm intrigued by the sports exhaust option.
If I understand correctly, the last RS3 did not have this option no ?
But it did have a button you would press that would activate a flap in the exhaust for MORE SOUND !
So will the new standard RS3 get a stock exhaust of comparable sound to the last RS3 - if so I believe this generated a great sound anyway but can't personally comment on this - and will the then optional exhaust just up the sound levels even further ?
I would like to hear both to compare but dobt Dealers would have both.

Last rs3 did not have the option, just a valved exhaust.

I had the sports exhaust on the TT, big difference, had cat bypass pipes fitted along with the flapper mode done, sounded the business. Wonder if the tips will look any different, TT RS with sports exhaust had black tips to differentiate

i assume the stock car will be like ours, bypass valve to make it louder, will be interesting to see if it has a single or pair of twin zorts like the S3

if the giant barry ovals work like they do on the RS6 etc then they will make it even louder and whilst looking daft will be a must have option IMO

i suspect the only way to hear side by side will be if they have both at the introduction days, if they have them, and i get invited lol
