Hi all,

Had my car going on 2 1/2 months now and no problems with it what so ever. However there is one niggling thing, sometime when moving off from stationary there is a creaking / squeaking for a second until the clutch is fully engaged. This only ever happens when moving away, and there is no noise when depressing the clutch or when changing gear when underway. Ive had a thought that it could be the clutch release bearing, but surely this would be making noise all the time?

Car Details:
2009 1.8 TFSI
Manual
Mileage: circa 70k
Full Audi Service History

So any ideas?

Thanks

Release bearing would be audible when stationary, when actuating the clutch.

As it happens, I had a hidden squeak that I thought was in the front. Turns out it was at the rear, and is the parcel shelf pins......

hmm i might need to look elsewhere then. Engine mounts? Sticky Brakes?

hill.....see if it squeaks when starting to roll..

I had something similar last year, although in my case it happened when getting in and out of parking spaces.

The culprit was a crack in the OS track rod end.
