I've had over 30 cars over the last 10 yeas but never an Audi so thought I'd try one so replaced my Navara tekna connect last week with a 2009 a4 s line avant. Apart from being underpowered compared to previous 3 series touring and c class estate i think its built better. It's pretty basic compared to previous cars aswell with even a key seemingly an extra. It's an executive model whatever that means and has rear tinted windows, heated seats, piano black inlays, Bluetooth and cruise control and I think that's about it for extras. Overall I'm really happy with it but having never owned an Audi I wouldn't mind picking some of your brains.

1. It has ever so slight clutch judder unless your very careful when pulling away, a rang a local Indy who said most suffer from this, it's not the end of the world but wondering if the garage I've just bought it from should sort it out? It's a company that leases cars out then sells them on the company's behalf, it's come with the minimum required RAC Warranty for 6 months (probably not worth the paper it's written on) but this obviously won't cover clutch and dmf, do you thinks the garage should be sorting this issue?

2. It has aux but no usb, can this be retrofitted? Is this what is meant by AMI?

3. Is it Monza silver or Quartz grey?

4. What size spacers will get the rear wheels somewhere near the arches?

Im sure there's other things but appreciate any advice on the issues above. Feel totally lost when it comes to Audi as I was very comfortable with BMW's

Can't answer any of your questions but i thought id say Welcome and nice car! :thumbs up:

Nice looking car, I would definitely get on to the garage about the dmf as its around £800 of a job to do yourself, so the sooner you get on to them the better, not sure about the usb or the colour but I think the spacers you will need are 15mm rear and 10mm fronts or at least that is what people with the saloons fit anyway. Ps :sign welcome:

I was going to ring the garage tomorrow but just wondering if it's their problem or mine?

It's theres as it was sold like that in my opinion but depends if they wanna be funny about it really.

I've just got a 2.7tdi multitronic and it also has a slight hesitation on pull away. Not a judder and don't think mine has a dmf.
I also have an rac warranty for what good it will be lol

Welcome to the forum mate
Lovely motor u have
Don't know what colour it is but phone up your nearest Audi and they will tell you over the phone.
Audi AMI can be retrofitted, contact NHN on here and I'm sure he could fit it for you.
And yes take it back to the garage, they should fix it if u got warranty with it

AMI is the Audi Music Interface... Allows you to connect your iPhone/Ipod to the cars stereo etc...

If you feel that the car is underpowered, then why not consider a remap?

Enjoy the car!

Could always look in the boot in the spare wheel well for the paint code and Google it.

Yeah I'll have a look for the paint code, I've read about issues with the dpf clogging and re maps only making it more likely to clog.
I would of really liked a black edition with rotor alloys but not to worry
Thanks again for the welcome

Welcome to the club mate :kissmyrings:

Is there no Ami box in the glove box, might be just a lead needed?
The Audi A4 executive should have phone prep low, symphony audio head with in built 6 cd player and SD slot, cruise control and leather/Alcantara trim and AMI in the glove box, etc..

Erm... It's got everything you've just stated including the symphony headunit with changer etc but I haven't noticed anything in the glovebox, haven't really looked to be fair. What actually is audi music interface, is it just to connect iPods/mp3's etc or does it have other features?

Should look like this, used to transfer music from phone, ipod, etc but it's just as easy to put music on a 32gb SD card

I Pod Adapter Port1

I'll double check tonight to make sure it hasn't already got it, is it difficult/expensive to retrofit yourself? I think ill also order an sd card, will 32gb work in the symphony headunit?

I tried to download my music from iTunes to an sd card I just dragged and dropped but then when in car there were only a few songs that would play the rest said unable to play wrong format or something is there anyway to change the format

If it doesn't have that box in the glovebox, then yes (thanks Robbie) we can fit the ami for you which will allow usb/iphone-ipod/auxin/wireless ami, pm if interested :)

Not used iTunes for a while but I believe, by default, it stores all your songs in *.m4a files (or something) which is apples copy protected format....stopping you doing exactly what you want to do in an effort to stop piracy....arhhhhh!

I'm sure there's an option in iTunes to change it all to mp3....or I would hope there is!

Lovely car too :D

The place I bought it from arranged for me to pop to an Indy and have he clutch checked, the technician said he couldn't feel any judder but noticed a bit of vibration when cornering of which there certainley is not.
I know it's defintley got a bit of judder when pulling away in first but he's convinced the flywheel is fine. Any other ways of checking it's this at fault or could it be an engine mount? Cheers again

It may be obvious but is it (the judder) happening all the time? A wee bit of clutch judder when cold is normal on these cars - particularly on damp days, and the TDIs seem to be more prone that the petrols for some reason - it's just condensation and/or surface corrosion on the surface of the flywheel. Some people have been duped into replacing the DMF (at considerable cost) by unscrupulous garages.

I get a slight judder from multitronic when I go from reverse to drive and pull away. It's always a bit hesitant aswell
