Hey Guys,

Switched out the ashtray for non smoking pack today, and in the process of chasing round a little red light to mount above (which really doesn't illuminate anything!!) appear to have decommissioned the switch that changes the position for the blower. Had to drop the unit out to get access for this stupid little light, not worth it!!

My car does not have climate control or anything, just the bog standard heater so three knobs - temperature, speed and exit position.

As some may be familiar the exit position is controlled by a thick cable leaving the control unit. When I twist the knob to change it, it feels much lighter than before, and remains coming out 90% on the screen 10% from the dash (the last potion it was set to).

I think there must be some sort of little plastic retaining clip that fixes the outer cable to ensure the centre moves independently to change the position or something?

Has anyone else experienced this before, or have knowledge of how it works to suggest what I should be looking for?

Thanks,

Dan

So an update, took it back apart this morning and it appears the end of that thick cable has come out of where ever it's meant to live.
I can't see where that is though unfortunately, does anyone know? Really hoping this isn't a dash out job as I've seen mentioned!!

Cable:

Dan
